Game 47: Bucks at Nuggets - 1/29/24 - 8:00 - BSWI

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sun Jan 28, 2024 9:41 pm

Great matchup that should be a Thursday TNT game or a primetime ABC game but is Monday night game with no national broadcast, not even NBATV (they have Sixers/Blazers  ).

Teams split last year, each winning at home (Jokic did not play in Milwaukee).

Denver favored by 3.5.

First game for Doc. The takes will be fun if this is a loss.

Go Bucks.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

3rd game in 4 nights. These can be brutal, but we're not the pillow soft Celtics so I'm guessing we make it a good game.

Literally the 2 best players in the world facing off, both on title contending rosters, and for the third straight matchup between them, it won’t be on national TV.

The NBA is a complete **** joke at promoting smaller market superstars.

But hey at least it’s not the 2nd of a B2B like both matchups last season! Extend Adam Silver again.imo

Scheduled loss as I'll be in the nosebleeds.

If the Bucks can hold the Nuggets to 104 in Denver on the third game in four nights during the first game with a new coach, they are 100% winning the title this year.

We always seem to not match up that well against them, really hope we win a convincing one tonight. We haven't beaten them with Jokic in the squad since the championship year!

Also, what's up with Giannis? First it was right shoulder injury, then back spasms and now non-covid illness.
Is he ok?

Doc had the weekend to figure everything out. Should be an easy win tonight

Bud tried Lopez on Jokic and he was eaten up. Then he tried doubling him and Jokic picked them apart. He didn't try Giannis on him, because then Lopez has no one he can guard. Maybe take Lopez off the court and go small.

Jokic is the best player in the league. I enjoy watching him play. In the game in Denver last year he had 31/6/11. Only shot 10-20 (1-6 from 3). Giannis had 31/9/5. Brook only played 19 minutes and had 4 fouls.

If Grief was still coaching a good title for this thread would be "Ag-Man Vs Yolkitch" feel free to use, no big deal.

Put him on Gordon and sag way off, 29% from 3 this year.

And so we begin with Doc Rivers
(Rich owners are generous givers)
He's a Marquette alum
So he can't be too dumb
It's a ring that we hope he delivers

I expect to see plenty of overreactions to lineups and schemes tonight, as befits the anticipation and excitement we all feel. I don't think we'll see twin Lopez towers or anything similarly goofy just to prove there's a new sheriff in town, so this game will come down to the usual things.

However, I think it means more to the Bucks than to the Nuggets, so we should be able to eke out a 120-104 victory.

This should be a great game. Two best players alive and neither on a B2B thankfully.

The fact that this game is not on National TV is malpractice.

Tony Brothers sounds like a budget frozen pizza brand.
