Game 78: Knicks at Bucks - 4/7/24 - 6:00 - NBATV/BSWI - Giannis Will Play

It's going to be interesting to see how we approach these last 5 games. Being healthy is certainly important going into the playoffs but it's equally important, imo, to have Giannis/Dame/Khris get more court time together. We face the Knicks, Celtics, Magic, Thunder and Magic. Celtics have nothing to play for but the other 3 teams are fighting for seeding position. Hell, if the wheels keep falling off we could fall to 6 or even 7. 6 or 7 are unlikely but possible. 3, 4 or 5 are very possible.

We've played well against good competition for the most part, hopefully we take these last games seriously (Celtics/Magic is a B2B).

I know some what to play the "pick a first round opponent" game. We did that 2 years ago and ended up with round 2 game 7 in Boston. And the way things are bunched up we have no idea who that opponent would be anyway. FAFO. How about just playing well the last week and get some momentum? We have a week off before the playoffs to get healthy.

Go Bucks

Though I agree with not laying up, the 'we ended up with game 7 in Boston' holds absolutely zero weight when you look at how home teams did in that series...

They shouldn't play anyone who is hurt but they should absolutely be playing to win to get the 2 seed and develop some momentum heading into the playoffs. I still believe having HCA for 2 rounds verses 1 is a big deal for this team based on their home/road splits and their age.

True we won 2 road games in that series and could have clinched at home. I'd still rather have game 7 at home. My larger point is trying to pick seeding isn't a good idea. But it's moot this year because there's such a bunch up.

I don't think the Bucks are tanking, I think they have quit on the season for the most part.

But it would be hilarious if they actually were tanking to be the #4 seed and then Miami at the last second and grabbed the #5 seed. Bucks vs Heat in the #4 vs #5 match up is still very possible.

Like you said, everything is so bunched up we have no clue where anyone not named Boston is going to finish.

Heat and 6ers at 7-8 is brutal

We are not trying to play Spolstra round 1 again

MarJon must be on the Khris Middleton training regimen.

This would be the best case scenario. Bucks only play well with a chip on their shoulder.

Tickets are dirt cheap and a ton available is rather surprising.

-Almost a must win game
-Only 3 home games left and this is vs a big market. Granted NYK doesn't have a big name draw
-Sunday game
-Giannis still questionable

I'm pretty sure one and maybe both will not be in the play in. I think strong odds at least one will be a 5/6 seed.

I'm feeling it in the chill of my bones, do to WI weather.

120-104 bucks win!

I predicted an April streak, but didn't specify winning or losing streak. Oops. Sorry bout that.

Time for a flip-switcher of a win. And for those who scoff at switches, cf. Miami, 2023. And every other year.

HCA holds zero weight… just as long as you don’t include the game 7 on the road drubbing.
Priceless.
Get the 2.

I agree that they're pretty much done with the regular season and are waiting for the playoffs to start, although I'm not a fan of it. I remember Michael Jordan saying he never dogged it on the court because you can't always expect to turn it up because its not a reliable method of winning. I really hope they're not tanking to avoid Miami, that just isn't a championship mindset.
