As much as I'm not really expecting a Middleton trade to wow me, I'm wondering what the "move Middleton" crowd is expecting, how it differs from Middleton and how it improves our team NOW. I'm like wracking my brain looking around the league and thinking where he'd make sense and how much value they'd give up. Like I've seen a ton of talk and the only one I've really seen thrown out is Josh Giddey. Like what type of deals are people looking to return for Middleton? (For other teams fans that I'm sure are lurking I'm just using this as a gauge, ignore it)

Smart and Clark?
Wiggins and Moody?
Keldon Johnson and 1st?
Brooks and Eason?
Herb Jones and Larry Nance?
Austin Reaves?
Cam Johnson?
Jonathan Issac?
Are we looking to swap him for another "star" just to see a different look like say Zach LaVine?
Are we setting sites higher and looking for a DeJounte Murray or Jerami Grant type guy?
Are we expecting more or less than these type of deals? Are we hoping we just gamble on young talent and/or picks?

I'm genuinely curious.

I think in short, Midds is far more valuable to us than anything we could realistically get for him.

Midds is still an elite player.

The only reason you trade Midds for packages like these are because you don't trust his health moving forward. We have to be honest that deals like this make our team worse (but perhaps more reliable from a health standpoint)

Bingo. I also don't think we get any worse with these especially when factoring in potential return for Brook.

Lastly, I'm not even sure these would be accepted.

We're often not factoring in decline for our elderly players as well.

Considering our prime star has missed games in four of the last five playoffs, and our secondary star is a little guard who turns 34 this summer, that’s enough injury risk for me to want to take going into next season.

We’ve spent the last two regular seasons trying to work around Middleton’s injuries. And in this Indy series, we got a gift where he stayed healthy and played great. You've been saying we waited too long on Khris since like 2017 when the first Middleton alert was sent out. We got three all-star games, a championship, countless Bojan Bogdanovic trades and 1 missed playoffs since then. Sometimes you just didn't wait too long .

If you're dealing a core player, you better be getting one back, or at least someone you think will likely get there in time. The vast majority of proposed deals I'm seeing for Khris are for role players, so they're DOA.

The Bucks had plenty of margin for error because of their depth/quality in core players, and it still wasn't enough due to injuries. Don't know why one would want to trade the least injured guy when it counted to alleviate that.

Provided you want to deal one core player to get younger or healthier, that guy naturally should be Dame, because he'd surely bring some iteration of a core player back.

From like a value/fit idea this is something that like I wouldn't hate in a Middleton trade. But also, we're trading for Brandon Ingram who averages 56 games since his rookie year, isn't that exactly what everyone here is terrified of? That's where like the disconnect for me comes into play. A guy like Cam Johnson too, a guy who has played like 56 games a season, is he stricken off the board? Can't have bad defenders, why is a guy like Giddey left on the chopping block when he should be off instantly? Nikola Jovic puts up Marjon Beauchamp numbers but he's on the Heat so suddenly he's an attractive piece. We throw out oh just get some three and d players. Ok, Jonathan Issac is one of the best defenders on the planet, I'm sure a lot of people would entertain some sort of deal for him right? The guy who missed basically 3 straight seasons with ACL and other stuff. Like is Marcus Smart too far gone averaging 52 games a year the last 5 to trade for him? This isn't directed at you but just in general, I said it earlier, but the level of hypocrisy when some people talk these deals is silly to me. I posted what I did earlier to just kinda feel out deals these people think they would trade Midds for to see if we're talking Harrison Barnes again, unrealistic ****, good deals or guys that have just as many red flags as Midds because to me right now it isn't so much all the excuses they're making for why they want to trade Midds make sense, they just want something different, even if it's the same (or worse).

1. Middleton injuries are not some freak injuries/accident related IMO. They are all result of wear and tear and it will not get better. He is cooked. His knees, ankles, well all joints really are cooked. I will be surprised if he plays 40 games next year. It would be miracle IMO

When you say look at Denver, are you referencing Michael Porter Jr or Jamal Murray as a "defender" in their lineup, just so we're clear.

I dont have numbers to back it up, but i feel like Porter jr provides the benefit of being very long and athletic at least.

With Khris, defensively, it seems like all he has left is his vet savvy. I think hes staying but man does he look limited at times.

Outside of a Caruso jackpot, i think our next great defender will come from a team like Detroit or Washington. Too many teams feel like they have a chance to at least sniff playoffs. Owners want to sell tickets.
