Another Redd trade thread

Post#1 » by screwdriver » Fri Jan 4, 2008 11:16 pm

I am a long-time Bulls fan, and always thought that Redd would be a terrfiic fit in their offense. With the Bucks possibly looking to rebuild, do you thnk the Bulls have the ability to make a decent offer to obtain Redd in a deal. The following pieces would be available:

Top 3 protected 1st round pick
Nocioni
Tyrus Thomas
Sefolsoha
Khryapa (expiring)
Griffin (expiring)

We could probably also take back a bad contract (Gadzuric?)

What is the feeling on this board? Are there enough pieces to get a deal done?

Appreciate your responses.

Just put this on the trade board.

Redd for

Nocioni, Thomas or Noah and Joe Smith

Smith is just filler and could be cut to go back with the Bulls if necessary like we did with Alan Henderson a few years back.

Another Bulls fan here, how would this be?

Bulls trade: Joe Smith, Andres Nocioni, Tyrus Thomas, 1st round pick
Bulls get: Pau Gasol

Milwaukee trades: Michael Redd, Dan Gadzuric
Milwaukee receives: Mike Miller, Andres Nocioni, Tyrus Thomas, 1st round pick from Chicago

Memphis trades: Pau Gasol, Mike Miller
Memphis gets: Michael Redd, Joe Smith, Dan Gadzuric

In a second. Don't see why Memphis would do it.

Not even Thomas would make a trade that bad for Memphis.

Bucks get way, way too much in that one IMO. Total dream deal from our perspective.

Memphis gets robbed. The difference between Redd/Miller certainly isn't Gasol. Plus they take on a **** contract in Gadz. Smith isn't much use to them either.

I honestly see Memphis doing it. There fans have been booing Gasol over the past week and they are playing pretty bad. They really want him out. I've heard them saying they'd do Redd for Gasol in an instant, but the only problem is you guys already having guys to play there. I haven't been here in a week, but heres a Grizz board where ius was just about a consensus to trade Pau last week.

Redd is yours if we get Nocioni and TT as the principles. And yes, please....pretty please....take Gadz.

I think Mike Miller is more valuable than Michael Redd. Their skill as players is roughly equal, but Redd gets paid twice as much. Unless you prefer Gadzuric to Gasol, that's a pretty stupid trade.

There is no way they do it. How much better is Redd that Mike Miller? Some but certainly nowhere near what this trade suggests. Like Adam said, factor in contract and its debatable who is the more useful player to have.

Redd for Gasol? Without doubt.

Maybe a few changes are needed (with the bad contract stuff), but i'm telling you majority of Memphis fans would deal Gasol for Redd. I'm sure there's a way for them to give up Miller as well, being that his contract isn't anything good if IIRC, and Redd would be replacing him. Isn't Miller being considered to be traded to Miami for nothing too special?

You DRC. Miller's contract is an excellent value. Like I said earlier, he's the same caliber player as Redd, and makes half as much money.

My bad then, but I still think something could be worked out with Nocioni, Thomas, Gasol, and Redd being the main parts.

I wandered over to the Grizzlies trade board, and low and behold here's one of the first posts.
This is probably one of the more perfect deals out there to be had in the NBA. Right down to the economical similarities, player fits and organizational similarities.

Here's the deal.

To Memphis

Michael Redd/Charlie Villanueva/Dan Gadzuric/David Noel/Jake Voskhul/2008 1st (top 10 protected)

To Milwaukee

Pau Gasol/Damon Stoudamire/Hakim Warrick/Brian Cardinal/Juan Carlos Navarro

Why?

The money going in and going out is almost identical for both teams. One factor to consider though is Jake Voskhul's trade kicker. Can't be that much but it can be handled by one of two ways. The Grizz kick in cash (that they would have to pay to Voskhul) or it can be covered by the Bucks waiving a player (Royal Ivey or Ramon Sessions) to lower their luxury tax penalty and save the cash to pay Voskhul that way.

If the Grizz kick in cash we might ask for a future 2nd.

Lineups

Bucks

PG - Damon Stoudamire/Juan Carlos Navarro/Royal Ivey (Sessions)
SG - Moe Williams/Charlie Bell
SF - Desmond Mason/Bobby Simmons/Brian Cardinal
PF - Yi Jianlian/Hakim Warrick/Michael Ruffin
C - Pau Gasol/Andrew Bogut

Grizzlies

PG - Mike Conley, Jr./Kyle Lowry
SG - Michael Redd/Jeremy Richarson
SF - Rudy Gay/Mike Miller/Casey Jacobsen
PF - Stromile Swift/Charlie Villanueva/Brown
C - Darko Milicic/Dan Gadzuric

You can have him, I am sick of really stupid basketball players......to think the Bulls could have had Roy or even Aldridge.

TT's game is exactly what we need and is a fantastic athlete. I just want him to come off the bench and be a role player. Defend, block shots and rebound. Not that hard.

I am not sure whether he is dumb or not, but many NBA players are, so what are you going to do?
