Early Draft Board

Post#1 » by LUKE23 » Sun Jan 6, 2008 3:29 am

Give me your top 10 in order of want as of today (assume all stud freshman enter draft).

Mine:

1. Rose
2. Beasley (some will question him, but I've seen the guy play and he's a double double player the minute he steps on an NBA court)
3. Greene
4. Griffin
5. Gordon
6. Collison
7. Jordan
8. Bayless
9. Buddinger
10. Mayo

That I want for the Buck's current roster?

1. Rose
2. Beasley
3. Jordan (He appears to have superstar potential at the C position, unbelievable athletic ability and size... That is hard to come by)
4. Griffin (Leading to a Bogut trade... Turning to an uptempo style with the Yi/Griffin combination at 4/5)
5. Collison
6. Greene
7. Batum
8. Gordon
9. Bayless
10. Mayo

Jordan is a big guy with great athletic ability. Still raw on offense, but might be worth it.

Griffin at PF, move Yi to SF... Trade Redd to get a point that makes Bucks fans happy! the end!

Yeah, I figure he could either be the Marcus Camby/Tyson Chandler type or the Dwight Howard type depending on how much of his potential he realizes. I think he'll be a very good defender/rebounder regardless.

His ceiling is absurdly high.

Has anyone seen Beasley's numbers this year?

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/pr ... erId=36671

24.2/13.5/2 blocks/1.2 steals on 55% FG.

He's only had one game that wasn't a double double. If he keeps that up it's one of the best freshman seasons of all- time.

Beasley would be a horrible fit here.

And why is that? He can rebound/block shots/score. Just because a few people have said he has a bad attitude?

It better be pretty bad to turn down a guy that is a lock for a double/double as a rookie most likely, with huge upside.

Care to elaborate on that? I have heard people say he has a bad attitude, never heard he has a bad work ethic though.

This team could use some toughness.

HAVE YOU SEEN HIM ON DEFENSE!?! He's absolutely AWFUL. You mine as well stick a cardboard cutout out there because it'd be just as good save for the couple of blocks. Not to mention he's selfish. You give the guy the ball and you're not getting it back. Period. There's a reason his team isn't winning games like they should. I mean losses to Xavier, Oregon, Notre Dame, and George Mason? It's not like there's no talent there either. He's playing next to a very good player in Bill Walker. He's a good player but there are waaaay to many issues for me to take a flyer on him. Then you have his attitude. Not the kind of guy I want in Milwaukee. Especially given the teams we've had over the last decade.

Kansas State doesn't have anyone but him, and all four of those teams you just listed could ALL BE TOURNAMENT TEAMS. So he dominates the ball in college, I don't care if you're a hog or not, 24/14 is asinine for a freshman playing in a major conference.

Everything I've read about him says he tends to coast against lesser competition but brings it against good competition. In the NBA that would be every night.

IMO, Rose should be a lock to be the first pick... He has all of the skills and the attitude required to become the next Jason Kidd, Steve Nash superstar type point guard.

Beasley you have to consider 1 or 2 though, just because of his ridiculous potential.

But if he's THAT good shouldn't he be leading his team to W's? He's playing alongside Bill Walker who is a RIDICULOUS athlete and a solid player. He was talked about as a high lotto pick last year. I would think when you have Walker and guy considered to be as good as Beasley is that leads to a pretty damn scary team. Unfortunately that's not the case. When you have 4 losses and Big 12 play hasn't even started yet, that's certainly cause for concern.

EDIT: His numbers are ridiculous, and he's a damn fine player, but not a guy I want to see in Milwaukee. I'd much rather have Jordan/Rose. Another guy I'm really high on is Batum. The kid can play.

Here is my list although I would like to admit, I am going solely off what I have read and have not watched most of them play one bit so I have to trust the scouting reports.
Beasley
Rose
Batum
Griffin
Mayo
Gallinari
Gordon
Green
Buddinger
Jordan
Thabeet
Hibbert

Can you tell I am willing to stick with Bogut and just try to fill in some other holes for now.

I haven't seen a lot of college ball this year. In fact, of potential lotto picks I've only watched Rose, Gordon, Hibbert, Koufos, Budinger, and Arthur.

I've only seen Beasley on youtube. NBADraft.net compares him to 'Melo and says he's a SF with range out to 25 feet. Draftexpress compares him to Zach Randolph. Looking at clips he seems to be a post player with an ugly jumper. If he's a PF I'd go another route.

I really like Rose and Gordon. Either would put me in a state of euphoria.

I don't like to do these things, since I haven't seen anyone in the draft outside of America.

I will say though, the top 10 players won't all be from this country, any draft projections have to include at least the Italian kid from what I've read.

Beasley and Rose are studs in my opinion and the two best players NBA prospects I've seen so far.

Is he a SF? Or could he play SF on the Bucks?
