A Request For Flintstone (AKA Charlie Bell)

Postby europa on Thu Apr 17, 2008 9:40 pm

Now that Charlie has checked back in and the season's over I want to put forth this request to see if he would be gracious enough to talk about the season here in this thread. He doesn't have to rip on teammates, former head coaches or GMs or anything of the kind. He can keep it all professional but I think all of us here would be interested in getting his thoughts about the season. Maybe talk about things like the following:

1. What went wrong from a general perspective?
2. What needs to change in order for the Bucks to get back on the path to success?
3. Thoughts on his own performance this season?
4. Thoughts on the new GM and any thoughts he might have on potential head coaches such as Carlisle or Skiles?
5. What the heck do people do in Flint for fun? :)

None of these are inflammatory types of questions. All of these are questions he's likely been asked or would be asked by competent beat writers. I'm not asking him to dish dirt or asking him to be put in an uncomfortable position. He can be as forthcoming as he wants to be without feeling as if we all just want to hear whether so and so did this or that.

So what do you say, Charlie? Will you grace us with your presence and provide some insight into the team and what lies ahead from your perspective?

7. Do you still live in your mom's basement? Because Doug Russell said that people who post on message boards are losers who live with their moms.

Who do you think was the MVP of the team this season?

Did it bug you at all that you guys were booed several times by your home crowd?

Any vacations planned for the summer to get some relax and enjoy some of the off-season?

How's the knee feeling?

I know there's been reports of chemistry issues with the team. Do you think bringing in a successful veteran coach can help unite this group or do you think changes have to be made?
Scott Skiles, the new Bucks coach, on being compared by reporters to Hall of Fame coach Pat Riley: "If I thought you guys knew anything, I'd be flattered."

I think guys just did not compete every night on both ends of the court.

Guys need to make a commitment to the TEAM. Look in the mirror and say what can I do to make this TEAM better.

I'm not happy with the way I played at the beginning of the season. Once things blew over and I was able to get in the gym and practice extra, towards the end of the season I felt I got much better and back to myself and having fun playing basketball again.

I have a lot of respect for Hammond because he comes from a bloodline of winning in Detroit. He saw first hand how the Pistons play and win and I'm sure he can bring that over to Milwaukee.

We play basketball for fun. Not much else here to do but basketball.
