It's the maximum I would have given him. Let's hope he improves enough to make it look like a bargain.

He wanted to pull a Yi, now that Larry is gone.

As in he would be going to Australia because he was upset with the Bucks and would join Team Aussie without an extension and wait til next year.

ETA: sarcasm

yea going to Australia for what? He'd be stupid to go back to Australia and play in the olympics before he got his extension because he'd be running the risk of getting injured...please expand on this thought.

I'm fine paying him the amount he got though.

To prepare for the olympics I assume, which would have made it harder to get an extention done.

5/60 is right at where I would want to sign him. I think that he will be announced after we announce the signing of whatever athletic 4 it is that we signed.

Wait, why is he so upset that Larry is gone?

Does he have a problem that Mo is still on the roster or was he assured he would be moved?

5YRS/$60M is just right IMO. He's still got to prove he's worth it, but I think he will

Unless he wanted to score 50 a night and earn $500K I highly doubt you meant going to 'play' in Australia, from what I hear he's been working out in Australia for the past month or so. Perfect deal imo, at the top end of what I'd hope we'd get him for but pretty reasonable. Wonder if the 'almost didn't happen' means he got some bad news regarding the backcourt.....

I don't follow you at all...Bogut wouldn't be wise to go play in the Olympics without getting a deal done first because of the risk of injury.

And this whole Yi stuff...I don't follow...are you saying that Yi wanted to be traded away from the team because Harris was fired and Bogut is following a similar path?

The Bogut signing is not that far off the MAX for a 0-5 year player

Sorry, the Yi/harris stuff was a joke. shouldve put it in green saying hammond may not have been as bold as harris.

And the contract stuff does make sense, bogut said he would leave by a certain date if he didnt get a contract. yea it was a risk, but he was willing to do it.

If guys like maggette gets 5/50(not sure if that is accurate), this is a steal.
It just feels a lot better having a solid base going into next year and not worrying about Bogut leaving

I wonder how such a (alleged) deal would effect guys like Okafor? Does it set a benchmark for upcoming FA big men?

QFT. It would make me sick to see the team that I follow sign a one dimensional, injury prone wing player like Corey Maggette to that sort of deal.

Five years, no ETOs or player options is my understanding.

Haha I don't wait for permission, but I appreciate having it anyway. Perhaps you can get a gold star for being the first to predict something accurately.

I was hoping for 5/55 but I'm fine with 5/60. Hopefully he doesnt wait until the January of his next contract year to play like he has some balls. If he becomes the guy so many here still think he can be then this contract is a steal. Its not a Redd contract but it definitely ups the pressure on Bogut now the he is one of the 3 highest paid players on the team.
