Just imagine if Hammond would've taken Wally at the deadline. He would have room for Earaslova, Sessions and Childress at the MLE.

Alright, as of right now, the following teams are over the threshold:
Boston
Dallas (Can get under by dropping Stack)
Lakers
New Orleans
Knicks
Phoenix
San Antonio
Utah
Washington
...and the following teams can't field a roster without going over, barring other moves.
Cleveland is at $69,280,965 with 10 players under contract.
Denver is at $69,326,776 with 9 players.
Miami is at $69,856,874 with 11.
Orlando is at $68,555,959 with 8.
That's 13/30 teams, for those too lazy to count.

The question is, who still has the full MLE to blow and might blow it? I think the Knicks will be the biggest challenge as it relates to Ramon. 3-year/MLE offer maybe. But we'll see.

I didn't think fam's numbers were wrong but I thought it was puzzling how so many other reports had it at $1.8M. So Jennings gets a little more and Sessions gets a little less. The total should still be about the same.

Is Salim's salary fully guaranteed? If not, which part isn't?
I think the Bucks have around $64 millions committed to salaries next season, including Salim, assuming they sign Jennings and Meeks and that they cut Bruce Bowen.

Look at the bright side - while we won't be able to field the roster we want, at least we didn't send RJ to Cleveland. That would have churned my stomach!

I believe it's 50% NG'd.
Gardner has a story about the SF position needing to be filled. He talks about Childress and says the Bucks would need to work a S&T with the Hawks to get him. No surprise, but I think we can safely eliminate any concerns if people had them that the Bucks would sign Childress as a FA and lose Sessions and/or Ilyasova. Based on the info Gardner has been spoonfed, I'd say it's very safe to say we know the Bucks' intentions here. They want him but they want it to be a S&T, thus protecting their status under the tax.

Red, Bogut, Gadz, Ridnour, Johnson, Bowen waived, Thomas, Bell, Alexander, Elson, Allen, LRMAM (11 players) = $60.278.667
+ Salim (waived) + Jennings = $62.889.627 (12 players)
+ Meeks = $63.489.627 (13 players)
What am I missing?

That's a good deal for the Raps actually. Bargnani showed this year that he is legit. I fully expect him to average at least 18/9 over the next couple of seasons.

Meanwhile, the Bucks currently have $63,213,548 committed to 13 players. Factoring the expected salaries for our draft picks and cutting Bowen, that leaves us at $63,514,656 for 14 players. Assuming that the lux tax is exactly 69.9, we have $6,686,452 under the threshold.
Thanks emunney, I think there are going to be several other teams like Atlanta who are going to be pushed hard against it with their FA signings as well.
This shapes up to be one of the most interesting trade and FA periods in a long time, I think we are going to see several teams shedding quality players.
As much as everyone likes to complain about our salary situation we are clearly in MUCH better shape than at least half the league.

2 things: 1 is different and one I missed.
1 is that I don't have us waiving Salim; the 2nd is that I forgot about Amir's trade kicker.

New York is my biggest concern as well as i don't think Portland are pursuing Sessions as they're looking for a more veteran PG. But even if either of them offer the MLE to Ramon, I'm sure Hammond has plans in place to clear up the necessary space to match it (well i hope he does).

Sheer stupidity on Colangelo's part IMO. He's got tools and is an interesting player. But at this point I haven't figured out where the guy plays on a winning team yet, other than a Chris Gatling/Cliff Robinson type role. This was clearly a guy you wait one more year to see what you've got.

I'll chew off a finger if he averages 9 rebounds a game. I think he might have a better shot at averaging 9 blocks.

I just looked at the Knicks' salaries. LMAO at the money they are paying this season to some players who will not contribute anything towards a winning team.
