LOL @ Memphis sucking. We have no long-term, terrible contracts, have an awesome young core, and good cap management. Milwaukee, on the other hand, has Bogut signed to a long term deal, pays Redd the max, and is pinning their hopes on Alexander panning out (which he won't). And yet, you say we suck? LOL @ the clown who said Mayo was selfish. Let me make a baseless claim now: Bogut is actually worth his contract. CLOWNS.

You just traded for Randolph who has basically the same contract as Redd.

Let's be nice to our Memphis friends Twirl. As you pointed out, our teams have a lot in common. 8-)

I agree with this. However I don't get the thread title. If he had swallowed his pride wouldn't he have signed for the vet min to come off the bench for a playoff team?

It's extremely rare that a player of his "caliber" would sign on arguably one of the worst run and least successful franchises in the NBA at this point in his career.

Memphis probably told him he'd have an opportunity to start or they just paid him the most money.

Either way, it's obvious that winning isn't the most important thing to him.

He'd rather be the man on a crappy team, than be a smaller cog in a playoff machine.

Or he just took the most money on the table.

I think if he ran a PR campaign and said how he just wants to fit in, come off the bench, win 6th man of the year, help a team win a championship, money wasn't important anymore, I think he'd have gotten an opportunity to play with a contender.

But he didn't, he'd rather collect his checks in Memphis and take Michael Vick out to strip clubs (the very first thing he did when he got out of jail was go to a strip club with Vick, I'm not making that up)

As well as what I heard about him taking the young guys in Detroit out to the clubs constantly, him being a bad influence is just not something teams even want to touch anymore.

Pride has nothing to do with it. It's all about God.

Allen Iverson: "God chose Memphis as the place I will continue my career."

The back of the mighty dollar has the words "In God We Trust".
Coincidence?

I just have one question. When Iverson, Mayo, Gay and Randolph steal the ball from each other, will they count as steals?

We should consult Ricky Davis on that one.

...And that song is now stuck in my head. Oh well, at least it's better than 'Shaddap You Face'.

I'm thinking the Grizzlies might make another move or two. You can't have 4 out of 5 starters who don't do much else besides score. I'm betting Rudy Gay's tenure there is growing more tenuous, especially since they'd have to commit to him a whole lot more with a contract extension next summer.

Speaking of Davis, to bad he couldn't be added to that team. A lineup on the court of

Iverson/Mayo/Davis/Gay/Randolph would be must see comedy entertainment

I look at the disaster Chris Wallace was as GM in Boston, how did he get another GM gig? Then, if you own the Grizzlies, how can you keep him on as GM while you watch the mess he's creating out of this franchise?

I say this with without being sarcastic at all, i think numerous people off this forum would do a better job with the Grizzlies than Wallace has done. That team is not only going to lose a ton of games, they'll have tons of flat out ugly situations happen as the players fight, bicker, and quit on each other. I'm looking very forward to it.
