Reports - Hossa to retire?

Post#1 » by TNBT » Wed Jun 21, 2017 9:34 am

Multiple reports are circulating that Marian Hossa may be about to retire due to an allergy-issue.

Is anyone else hearing this?

Bombshell...

Marian Hossa will miss Blackhawks' 2017-18 season with 'progressive skin disorder'

Just heard that too. Could be forced to retire, but will miss the season at least.

There are articles out there that it explain the ramifications better than I ever could. But what I did read today (from on-line Tribune) was that the Hawks are likely to NOT put him on LTIR until the season starts. By doing so they will be able to spend up to the cap in the off-season, then put Hossa on LTIR and fill his salary spot during the season. Putting him of LTIR before spending up to the cap actually sort of lowers their spending amount for the year.
