AP - The Blackhawks put goalie Nikolai Khabibulin on waivers, according to a person within the league, as reported by the Associated Press on Monday.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the move.

Khabibulin is entering the final season of a four-year, $27M deal.

I never thought I'd see the day Khabibulin would be put on waivers...I want him, don't know how to get em...but I do know I want him. Nice "problem" to have.

I would not touch him with his contract and age. He's going down hill real fast, We need to bring up Howard and we have good 'tending now why bring in a suspect goalie?

Pass. Its like this in every sport. A guys time has passed, but he was a top-tier player and then teams think he'll somehow return to old form.

Let some other team bring him on.
