A bit much, but I'm still glad he's signed. Still waiting for a Subban deal.

A bit much? Far from it. Patches at 4.5/year over (doesn't even start til 2013-2014) 6 years? That's a ridiculous bargain! He's just going to continue to get better, and become a consistent 30 goal scorer. AWESOME deal for the Habs on the Patches front.

Now for PK...

Its a bargain if he can get more then 70 points a season;
Its a pretty reasonable deal if he keeps being a 33/32 guy.
He is young, he can score, but was last season the new normal for Patch of was it just a great individual season in the midst of a terrible team season?

There is a lot to like about him.
He is 23, he has a + rating on a terrible team over 79 games, and he doesn't shy away from using his frame (100+ hits) but again its one season.

I guess if you think he is destine to be a legit forward in this league for years to come then its not bad, but I can only wonder what Subban will get now.

Ya that's what I'm wondering too Morris. I'm not entirely convinced that last season wasn't but a blip on the radar screen. But with his age I'm certainly optimistic that there are more good seasons to come... Even still, I probably would have felt a little better about this signing if it was three years instead of 6.

But ya, gots to get PK done. At least he wants to be in Montreal. Love to see that 6 year deal attached next to his name.

Habs uniform ranked best in sports and the NHL. Can't disagree, they're kind of perfect. Bruins, Rangers, Red Wings, Flyers and Leafs are all in the top 25 overall in that order.

The Montreal Canadiens have reportedly offered restricted free agent P.K. Subban a three-year, $12-million contract.

According to TVA Sports, Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin is working to get the 23-year-old defenceman signed before the collective bargaining agreement expires on Sept. 15.

However, it has also been reported that Subban is seeking a five-year deal.

Subban has tallied 21 goals and 55 assists in 160 games with the Canadiens.

I like it;
But at the same time I think it will have some negative effects in the locker room.

The guy wasn't a diva, he just forgot how to play hockey.
A lot of the kids interviewed went out of their way to talk about how "Gomer" took the time to work with them.
