The Randolph comparison is the dumbest thing ever.

I don't even want to begin listing what makes Big Al the dominator and Zach the pos cancer.

I need to stop reading those topics or my keyboard/monitor/something will explode.

Just one thing. Zach Randolph has 6 blocks this year. Al has 56. KG has 58

$24 million
$25 million

$19 million

$2.5 million

Those are the salaries for this year and the next three; I dont think I need to identify which is which.

We got such a bargain this offseason.

^Yes. (well, 21 and 11.9, but close enough) But Tim also played 4 years of college, so Al is the same age as a rookie Tim Duncan.

I didn't realize what a polished monster Timmy was in his rookie season.

Only time I saw a college Duncan was when I saw the game where he completely killed NBA players when it was TEAM USA vs. College team USA, he was looking like a vet out there.

What does Al have on a rookie Duncan?
-More advanced low post game
-Probably a bit of range (I don't think Duncan added that until a few years, right?)
-Power

What did a rookie Duncan do better than Al?
-Defense, both man and help
-Passing out of double team and passing in general
-Maybe high post, although it's probably pretty even

Actually Tim Duncan was 21 as a rookie. Two full years younger than Al is now.

If we're saying late January of Duncan's rookie season, he was 21 and 9 months. Al is 23 and 0 months, so more like a year and 3 months. But point taken.

Al's got better footwork, but that's about it. Duncan was stronger than Al is now and had a better face up game (he started to add that in college, his bank shot was already getting attention his rookie year).

Al's close to a young Duncan in terms of scoring and rebounding, but behind him in terms of just about everything else. Not a knock on Al, since Duncan's one of the two or three best power forwards in the history of the game.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

you guys have a truly special player in big al. if he keeps improving, he will be the kind of guy you can strap a franchise onto the back of -- and there are only 5 or 10 of those guys in the league. props.
