Mark Jackson could teach our point guards how to make stupid comments to star players that cause them to get lit up by 40 points. Sounds good to me.

Or how to take back ridiculous comments regarding the best player to ever play the game.

Are there any good offensive minds available? Someone to utilize Rubio/Flynn/Ellington/Love/Jefferson?

Fratello was head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies from December 2004 to December 2006. In his first season he inherited a 5–11 team that he turned around to win 45 games and advance to the playoffs. Fratello built on that record the following year to win 49 games and return to the playoffs for a second consecutive season. Before departing in December 2006, his record was 6–24 taking his overall record with Memphis to 95–87.

Prior to working with the Grizzlies, Fratello had coached the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks. In his six seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers his record was 248 wins and 212 losses. Fratello took the Cavaliers to the playoffs four times. Fratello coached the Hawks for seven seasons and posted a 324–250 record, making the post-season playoffs five times and winning the Central Division in 1987 with 57 wins. Fratello was named coach of the year for the 1985–1986 NBA season. His NBA career stats are 666 wins and 542 losses for a .551 average. His teams have qualified for the playoffs in eleven of his 16 seasons as a head coach.

One of the most respected basketball minds despite having never won an NBA championship as a head coach, Fratello ranks 19 on the NBA's all-time win list and 21 in games coached.

I remember reading somewhere that Fratelo certainly wont be our coach.

Hmm, Del Harris is an interesting idea. I don't know much about how well he works with young players, but he certainly has the experience and has been pretty successful....

I posted it in the Rubio talk thread but next week Kahn is planning on traveling to start his interviews instead of having them come to MN.

Here is the link on it.

Believe me, you don't want Del Harris...I haven't seen a name that excites me yet, although Van Gundy is intriguing...

If Rubio decides to come over and join the Wolves, do we get a coach that likes to run? Or still build this team around Al and go for a more halfcourt style?

I'm warming up to Jackson. Remember, Del Negro had zero experience entiring last year. He also was a former NBA guard, and his team just drafted a pretty good guard.

See the connection?

*Kahn is expected to hit the road next week to start his coaching interview search rather than stay in Minneapolis and let coaches come to him.

It’ll be interesting to see how many coaches are scratching their heads over the Wolves’ draft and wondering if they want any part of this thing.

But it only takes one who doesn’t, and it sure looks like that guy will be Mark Jackson, with Bill Laimbeer — who I hear Kahn spoke with he was saying he didn’t have a coaching list and wasn’t going to have one until after the draft — likely as an assistant.

That would be ok if it were reversed and Laimbeer was head coach.

Which roster would you rather coach? Which city would you rather coach in? As good as Detroit has been over the years, they're about where we were in 05 through 07. I'd think Minny would by far be more desirable.

^That would depend on if the coach wants to win now or not. The Pistons still have Hamilton and Prince plus whoever they sign this summer (Boozer, Milsap) or take on (Kaman, Chandler).

I think the coaches would be coming to Kahn if Rubio was set to play next year.

Little blurb here about Kahn's potential interest in one of Portland's assistant coaches.
