For those Holiday lovers out there, check out his stats from tonight.

33 min

0-5 FG

0 pts.

1 ast

3 TOs

Has a top 5 pick ever had a game like that?

In normal drafts there would be only 2 (possibly one if Rubio is not there) guys that would go top 5. This draft is thin and made mostly with prospects.

i personally think Holiday is going to make a much better NBA player than college hooper. And i have absolutely no stats to back that up. I just think he is going to translate better based on watching him.

What I am saying is that Monroe could potentially have SF tools. If we scout that in him then he should be a prospect we consider. If he projects as only a 4 then he is off our board.

Deeney, are you saying that he has no hope as a 3?

I haven't seen him enough to say outright he has no hope as a 3, but I'm skeptical, and I'd rather draft a 1, a 2, or a more traditional 3.

I think with the 4/5 we have that a bigger 3 is in line. Technically speaking the term "traditional 3" does not exist. The position used to be a utility position or a tweener g/f spot. The position constantly redevelops and expands with every generation. It is a matter of who we put into that spot.

Before GT-Monroe was considered to have very good face-up and dribble ability. He was referenced as possibly having the tools to make the transition into a pro 3. Not a point-fwd by any means, but someone who had the athletic ability as well as the playmaking ability to be a potential 3 prospect. That was part of the reason why a 6'9 kid would be considered the top prospect in his HS class. If he does not have that potential as a 3 then he is not a considerable prospect for the wolves. Simple as that.

I'm still semi-obsessed with the idea that Marvin Williams is that bigger 3.

This will pretty much be a run of votes for the 7'3" center until he finds a draft spot.
Agreed on the first too, not sold on Harden, but Thabeet would be my next choice now for MN.

2. Blake Griffin
3. James Harden
4. Jrue Holiday
5. Hasheem Thabeet(1)

With only 3 votes left, it was impossible for anyone to catch Holiday.

It is interesting that it seems ESPN and Ford have us liking Teague over Holiday.

In playing with the simulator it looks like our order is
Griffin, Rubio, Thabeet

That is pretty close to my feelings though Rubio/Griffin is a tough call.

Honestly, I'd consider Tyreke Evans here, but if I start voting him now I'm going to be voting him the rest of the lotto.
