Inevitable COY.

One of the gambling podcasters is hammering the 18-to-1 odds on Finch winning Coach of the Year.

I don’t blame him. In the eyes of the National narrative, the Wolves were considered a mediocre team, and some questioned whether they would even make the play in. Makes Finch look like a star!

With all of the awards people have talked about involving Timberwolves, this was always the one I thought was the easiest money (if there's such a thing) as long as we played up to our internal expectations.

I thought Jaylen Nowell was easy 6MOY money last year

Several posters know I have been critical of Finch last year.

With that said, I am someone who can admit when I am wrong.

Kudos are in order. Hopefully, he continues to have this team playing well all year.

I wonder if anyone here still wants him fired...

I'd lay odds that at least some do.

When Bev retires, think Finchy hires him as assistant coach?

Your team looks great! I was at the Warriors game where Draymond & Klay got tossed; great fun to watch.

The further DLo gets in the rear view mirror, the better your team looks.
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

I am the first to owe an apology to our coach: I have often criticized him both as a coach capable of keeping the team's mental level high and as a coach capable of giving an identity to the group. In the past I have attributed to him faults that perhaps he had but also many that perhaps he did not have and which were dictated only by my frustration in wanting to see the Wolves win. This year I have to take my hat off: as the team grows, I seem to also notice its growth as Head Coach. Congratulations Finch, keep taking us as high as you are! The kids are with you and we are with them!
"...I want to compliment him, we all expected that he would take up the game, we have prepared the plan race on him, we have doubled. And, as usual, he did what he wanted..."

I think Towns has been great this season, but last night at the end he was really messing up. I liked how Finch was willing to set him down, and even finished with Naz.

Vegas has Mark Daigneault, the coach of the Thunder, as the most likely candidate to get Coach of the Year, and the Orlando Coach as second above Finch or tied with him. The gap isn’t big, but I don’t understand why Finch doesn’t have a big lead?

Because it’s Minnesota. We never get love or respect.

Because it would mean admitting they were wrong last year about how our roster construction would never work.

its usually the team that outperforms pre-season expectations

not always, sometimes its the team with best record (monty williams, Steve kerr)

okc doing so well considering how young they are and plus they haven't cashed in their assets to gain that success
pretty impressive

I gotta believe people knew OKC would be good coming in. Last year expectations were sky high before Chet went down. Now all their young guys are a year older. Maybe the are out preforming a little bit, but no one had us at 20-5 through 25. That is an .800 win rate.
