Pacers up on OKC 59-49 just before half time. Thunder going without SGA and Jalen Williams.

While we won't know for certain, I think OKC wants to avoid the Lakers at all costs.

You think they would intentionally lose games to manipulate the playoff seeding? :o :o :o

With 5 to 6 games to play there is a lot of combination possible. Planning as the stage is very unkikely for me. But they have a tough schedule so they probably don't think they can fight for top spot anymore specially without SGA.
Denver will fight for top . And first round will be tough whatever the opponent, West very strong this year.

The NBA shared its latest salary cap projections for the 24-25 season, which remains unchanged from January at $141 million.

The luxury tax is projected at $172 million with the first apron at $179 million and second apron at $190 million.

Bobby Marks projects seven teams with cap space and 10 teams above either the first or second apron.

Lower is bad, higher is good. To put it in context it is very, very, very, very BAD!!!!!!!!

OUCH!! :o

It’s even worse if Ant makes all NBA and we have to pay an extra 7 per year. He was on nba.com this morning as making a push for MVP. That means likely all NBA, maybe even 2nd team.

Ironically Lakers could get 6th and face OKC in the 1st round. It’s worse than throwing darts in the dark, it’s throwing darts in the dark while balancing on one leg on top of a moving train.

Update: OKC loses. They now are 52-25.

Good start tonight. Wolves now two games ahead of OKC in the losing column.

Nah, lower is bad “this year,” making it harder to get under the second apron (which I think was doubtful anyway).

But lower also means that the max deals for Towns and Ant start at a lower number next year. Future years that include 8% raises will be pegged to that initial salary next year, not future cap jumps. Having a lower first year means the overall contract (Ant’s runs through 2029, KAT 2028) will be cheaper, and that’s good.

So true. I really hope that the Thunder don’t play the Lakers. OKC is a better team overall, but the Lakers size is a huge problem for them. Our size is also a big advantage, and I would hope the they make the second round, in case we get to play them.

And of course, the Thunder are a more lovable team, and I would like to see them advance a round, if for no other reason than, like us, the national media gives them no respect. The Lakers will be praised no matter who they face, and most of their privileged fans are obnoxious, so I’d like to see them humiliated as much as possible.

Have you guys seen Denver’s injury report for today? Their entire starting 5 and one of their bench 4 are on it. This is very interesting heading into a back to back.

Joker is probable, but I sure wouldn't be surprised if they sit him today to have him 100% or close to it for our matchup.

Still a little hope in UTA vs DEN. Hope UTA at least take DEN to double OT
