The Bad A$$ Dunk I presume.

I missed the game. What was with all the bench pointing?

Is that in response to something Mo Wagner did earlier, or is it some new cool thing to do?

Not sure but I’ve heard him on other broadcasts before and was surprised at first. Could be similar to a Mike Breen contract. He calls Knicks game regularly but will also do ESPN broadcasts.

The announcers are team hires, I believe.

The Breen comp is spot on. Multiple teams have overlap with national crews.

Ian Eagle (Brooklyn)
Mike Breen (New York)
Ryan Ruocco (Brooklyn)
Mark Jones (Sacramento)

Considering he’s doing some National work now, they could just be preparing him to call some games during the Wolves/Celtics finals

NBA TV games pick up local coverage. So unless Grady had a side deal with the Mavs, he would have needed to organize this through Ballys. Honestly, I miss Dave Benz.

I think Dave Benz is exactly the guy you want for a really bad team.

His eagerness and goofiness can help distract from awful on court play. But I don't think he has any business calling serious games. He seems like a super nice guy, but he has no authority at all.

Grady has been a breath of fresh air. He's fantastic at his job.

I’m trying to understand why some Magic fans are so salty in their game thread lol
