WCQ Game 1: Phoenix at Minnesota, 2:30 pm Saturday

We needed to get off to a strong start and being up by almost the end of q1 is a great sign considering we have been down by 42 points in total in q1 against Suns in our 3 league games.

Good start, keep the turnovers down.

Gobert, Towns and Jaden have been excellent.

Anthony Edwards has legitimately learned absolutely nothing from the prior Phoenix games. Just so disappointing.

He had a really bad play in game last year too. I had hoped that he would have gotten those jitters out of the way on Game 82.

Still a long series, and he gets better. For now, I’d like to see Mike do more of the decision-making.

The concerning thing is that these mistakes aren't jitters-related. It is just a continuation of the terrible decision-making that we have seen all season. Some on this forum have been hostile about me repeatedly calling it out, but it's been a serious problem all season that is rearing its ugly head against a defense that is designed to collapse on Anthony Edwards' drives.

At this point we have to figure out how to patch it rather than fix it. Ant has 3 turnovers and 2 fouls in the first quarter. This not how you lead your team in the playoffs.

Unfortunately, the only real answer would be functionally benching him against the starters (earlier in the game); Phoenix's bench squad is less dynamic defensively. Minnesota has done absolutely nothing to develop him as an off-ball scorer, despite him being MUCH more efficient in catch-and-shoot actions.
