Is Gerald Green going to represent us in the Dunk Contest?

Post#1 » by Calinks » Sat Jan 12, 2008 7:56 pm

It seems like he isn't too keen on taking part this year. I think he is more focused on his game but it would be nice to see a wolf taking part in the all-star festivities. It would be great if he could bring home a title.

if he participates the dunk contest, and he certainly will, let's all hope that he'll win it and that he gains self confidence from that!

Well I heard him say earlier in the year that he didn't think he was going to do it this year.

They shouldn't let players with multiple DNP-CD's into the dunk contest. Nike, Gatorade, ect. need to get a big enough prize together (given to the winner's favorite charity) to attract Kobe, LeBron, VC, etc to participate.

^^I, and everyone else agrees with you. But it does not happen. Which is very sad.

green should go, and then collect a DNP there. It would be funny.

How many is there, 4 players? Who would you guys like to see? Let's pretend that players wanted to go. Who are your picks?

Those guys can't participate. The rule is that you can't be more than a 3-year veteran to participate in the dunk contest.

It really should be open to anyone.

Green should do it just because it will help brighten up this grim season a little.

It wasn't the original inspiration. I am a big Transformers fan, and I have used funkatron101 as a screen name for about 10 years now.

Subconsciously it could have come from the game, I did have fond memories of playing it as a kid.

They didn't. They do use "tron" however. Megatron, Galvatron, Cybertron, etc.

Toe Jam and Earl's planet is actually Funkotron.

I see. I remember the second game was called Panic on Funkotron. My buddy and I used to play it all the time, it was fun but the first was better.

From Mike Trudell's last post on Timberwolves.com

Green to Defend Dunk Title
Gerald Green has accepted the NBA's invitation to defend his slam dunk title at this year's All-Star Game in New Orleans. Green said he has some dunks all ready to go, and we'll make sure to catch up with him for as many details as possible before the contest.

Who is in the contest this year? I saw somewhere that Moon from the Raptors would be in it and now GG. I hope Howard is in it again and that Robinson is told they aren't having the contest anymore.
