claymore? like they are going to blow up?

Oklahoma City Sodbusters, Dust Balls, Tumbleweeds, Trailer Parkers, Tornadoes all of which are better.

I think it would be pretty cool to have a Flyers in the NBA--works thematically too.

It's tricky trying to make something work with the two word, three syllable city name.

Oklahoma City Stampede
Oklahoma City Coyotes (two syllables, not three - Coy-otes)
Oklahoma City Gamblers (unfortunately, the Donaghy thing makes this one impossible...)
Oklahoma City Steam
Oklahoma City Crush
Oklahoma City Scapegoats

Bear in mind that in all likelihood people are going to call them OKC something.

OKC Steam I kinda like...

Granted, some of them sound like XFL teams... I like the last one best.

why not just shorten Oklahoma City...call them..."The OC"...the most mocked sports franchise in the history of gamesmanship.

Add our newest Timberwolf to the summer league roster...

Carney is IN!

Good chance to get a look at the guy. I'm glad he's gonna play in Vegas.

I'm kind of confused on our summer league schedule. According to http://www.nba.com/timberwolves/news/su ... 70703.html we had a game today against New Orleans at 7:30pm. This thread says july 14th right? So when actually is our first summer league game?

OK I figured this out myself. I still can't figure out why the above link was wrong. This link has the true schedule http://www.nba.com/timberwolves/news/wo ... 80707.html

So no game until next monday.

That first link is last year's schedule. The second link is the correct 2008 schedule.

Ahearn/Neitzel/Jeter
Brewer/Taylor
Carney/Grier/Coleman
Love
Richard/Longar

well...a guard heavy summer league roster for a team that could really use a PG is good...but I think Grier and Taylor deserve more playing time than they will get with us with Brewer and Carney in front of them. Tough break. Maybe we'll play lots of small ball.

Jeter is a much better player than Neitzel.

Just finished up at the Orlando Summer League, and I get on plane to Vegas tomorrow morning. I'll try and find the time to post some recaps on here of the Minnesota guys. Again, I really really like Pooh Jeter, maybe even more than my boy Ahearn. Kevin Martin called Jeter the best point he's ever played with. He's very undersized, but a very good passer and automatic from inside 20 feet. He loves to get out in transition, and knows how to involve everyone. I have some friends in the NBA now who saw Jeter while working in the D-League, and they all think he has what it takes at the NBA level. I give the Wolves front office a lot of credit for landing him this summer.

Randy Foye, the Wolves' starting point guard, will practice with Love and Carney, his new teammates, for two days, but will not participate in games generally intended for first- and second-year players and free agents.

Hoopsworld previewed our SL roster:

With the recent addition of Rodney Carney the pressure is really on Corey Brewer to show that the Timberwolves should give him time next season. Despite extensive minutes, Brewer had a really underwhelming rookie campaign and his spot from the rotation is far from guaranteed. Vincent Grier is an impressive scorer in the same unorthodox way that Chris Douglas-Roberts is. Kevin Love is really going to have to produce at a high rate if this Minnesota squad is going to have any success. He will really be under the spotlight, but considering the type of shape he is in and his incredible basketball IQ he should play well. Chris Richard will have to have a strong performance too if he hopes to stay out of the NBDL next season. Bryce Taylor is a sleeper guy to keep an eye on. Longar Longar was just recently drafted by the Harlem Globetrotters, who he has a much better chance of sticking with compared to Minnesota.

The Globetrotters draft people? With the Washington Generals? Do the Globetrotters get the all the lottery picks?

man I don't even know...are the Globetrotters even in a league? Do they have a schedule? Do the players get paid or are they indentured servants?

This is good to hear from you. Do you think he will be given a legit chance in the summer league to possibly get an invite back in the fall?

why does DX have Jeter ranked as the 30th best free agent euro player behind pg prospects Aaron Miles, Omar Cook, and Dee Brown?

I read this on Jeter
One more player... Colorado's Pooh Jeter. He is a little dude, kind of looks like Earl Boykins out there, but whereas Earl is a shooting guard in a point guard's body, Pooh is a true point guard. He had 11 assists and no turnovers in the first game and played very well in the last game as Colorado beat Dakota. This guy makes smart decisions, he has a good jump shot and he was probably the quickest player here.
