From ESPN Summer League Blog: Love Gets Hurt
Early in the third quarter, Minnesota's Kevin Love appeared to roll his ankle and was helped to the locker room. I'll try to get an official word. Before the injury, Love had 10 points and nine rebounds.
It turns out that Love has a sore right Achilles and will not return to the game.

Sore achilles? Anyone know if this could be serious? Can sore mean torn? I would assume this means no work with the USA select team unless it really is minor, which it could be. Hopefully, he just needs a few days off.

Re: Timberwolves Vegas Summer League Thread (roster included)
Kevin Love’s relentless summer-league play has impressed more than the scouts sitting courtside: USA Basketball on Saturday selected him as one of two final players picked for a young select team that will practice and scrimmage against the U.S. Olympic team in Las Vegas this coming week.
Love and Robin Lopez join O.J. Mayo, Derrick Rose, Rodney Stuckey, LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, Luther Head, Al Horford, Andre Iguodala and Kevin Martin on a 12-man team that begins four days of training against the Olympians on Monday. Oklahoma City’s P.J. Carlesimo will coach that team.
I guess now he’ll discover how he’ll fare against the biggest, the quickest and the best well before he gets to fall training camp.
Love leads the Vegas summer league in rebounding with a 15 a game and is seventh in scoring (20.7 PPG, 45.1 percent) shooting entering tonight’s game against Milwaukee. He did not play most of the second half against the Bucks because of soreness in his right Achilles tendon, a precautionary move to keep him healthy when he joins the select team today. He will not expected to play in today’s summer-league finale against New York.

Precautionary move...I feel better.

I can't really see him getting a contract from us. He's a PF and we're in a logjam at that position already. If we had room I'd be all for him but I just don't see it.

Re: Timberwolves Vegas Summer League Thread (roster included)
Pops is a better fit for our team then Smith IMO. If we can get him out of his overseas contract, I would think our FO has got to be interested in a 6'9 explosive, athletic guy that can block some shots. We do have to keep in mind that this is summer league and the Knicks "d" was a joke....but he still showed me plenty.
Ahearn, Jeter and Taylor should get invites to camp as well.

isn't Pops signed in Europe? Maybe he has a buy-out clause...

if we did manage to get Pops out of his Euro contract, I'm sure we'd have to give him guaranteed money...which is fine with me. Maybe Richard is gone if we get Pops?
Jefferson, Love, Collins, Smith, Cardinal, Booth, Madsen, Richard, Pops...that's 9 guys at 4/5. Maybe Booth or Cardinal get waived?

It sounded like Pops wants to play in the NBA regardless. I think he could get out of his overseas contract, but no clue on the details. I think waving Booth (likely anyways) would get it done.
