Timberwolves Mock Draft 2009

The past couple of years we've done a poll to figure out the Wolves draftboard. Now it's only February and still a month+ before the tournament, but I'm curious to see how things will change from month to month as we deal with the Jefferson injury, as players rise and drop, I know most of us(me included) would like to see the Wolves compete and go for wins, but let's be realistic in our chances with the injuries we've head to deal with.

Here's the way it works:

-Draft one position at a time
-You can vote for any player, the first person to get 10 votes at that slot gets placed there and we move on to the next draft spot.
-We'll do top 10 for now as that's all we can get with the Wolves pick, but if there's a desire we can go through the Miami pick, or even the Boston pick(whole 1st round).
-When you list a name, please put in parentheses how many votes that person had counting yours, and put the name in bold.
-We can use this list of top 100 prospects, even though Rubio has rumored to have said he's staying out until 2010. http://www.draftexpress.com/rankings/Top-100-Prospects/
-EDIT: You can only vote once per pick. So if you vote for slot 1, you have to wait for slot 2 to come around before you can vote again.
-EDIT: If by 20 votes we don't have someone with 10 votes, we take the highest vote-getter.

good thread, btw. I don't think it's too early for this since half of our threads are draft related anyway.

For the record we're tied at 2 votes a piece. C.lupus, while being a helluva person and overall brilliant Wolves poster, can't count, or read. ;-)

1. Blake Griffin (2), Ricky Rubio (2)

My thoughts are that we're just a couple weeks from the trade deadline, chances are nothing will happen for us, but hopefully. But after that all we have to look forward to are the draft as the Wolves lose game after game. :-(

I dont think we can trade from the #1 spot to the #2 spot easily and i dont think Rubio will be there past 2.

So is that a vote for Rubio? My intention was more than just figuring out the 1st pick, looking to make a mock draft based on what the Wolves should do. This has been done the last few years, I know you've seen it before.

Chad Ford in his infinite wisdom has him coming out, but it's rumored that Rubio told Jennings he wasn't coming out. Most likely he is next year. Like I mentioned in my earlier post, most likely not, but will keep his name in anyways as he's in the top 100 list.

It would be Griffin pretty easily if I thought we could trade him and still get Rubio, but I don't think we could.

A great point guard can make mediocre talent at other positions look pretty damn good.
