Dany Heatley nixes trade to Edmonton

Dany Heatley has nixed a trade which would have sent him to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Andrew Cogliano, Ladislav Smid and Dustin Penner.

Heatley has a no-trade contract, but demanded a trade out of Ottawa earlier in the month as he was upset with Ottawa coach Cory Clouston as his ice time was cut significantly. It is amazing that a player demands a trade and then refuses to go when the team accommodates him. The Senators should call him out and not trade him. If he refuses to report to training camp the Senators should suspend him and let him sit, even if he has scored 50 goals twice in his NHL career.

How long is this going to go on for?

What a prick!! Hopefully it gets sorted today and we trade him, otherwise we are going to be on the hook for his 4 million dollar kicker today.

At the moment I would trade him for a bag of pucks just to get out of his contract then throw what ever it took to sign either Gaborik or Cammalleri today to replace him.
