Sens fans:Do you think Emery is overrated?

Post#1 » by HDMAVS760CA » Mon Jul 2, 2007 12:39 am

I was checking out the sports section of Yahoo & i've clicked on to where Emery is a restricted free agent & there were 3 teams interested in him. L.A., Boston, & the Blues. Won't happen in Boston cause they got Fernandez. There were comments at the bottom & lots of people don't want Emery on their team, saying he's overrated. Do Sens fans feel that way too? There was a Sens fan who said if they used the other goalie the finals would be different. He did get the team 2 the finals.

he's a young goalie with a fair bit of potential, he made great strides last off season and if he can work on his rebound control he could be a good one. He's a very good but not great goalie at this point

He's not an elite goaltender, and I don't think anyone really considers him one. With that said, no...he isn't overrated.

this is the first training camp where he can go in knowing he's the #1 goalie, and he's earned that. As mentioned earlier, he does need to work on his rebound control, but aside from that he's pretty damn good.

I don't considers Emery to be an elite goalie. He's an above average goalie with a good team in front of him. He does have some potential but he'll really need to show something either this year or next to really be considered up there with Luongo, Brodeur, Kiprusoff, Lundqvist, etc
