I don't agree with benching him that long, but in his defense, the Thunder were isolating against Thomas every single time.

They went from down by 6 shooting 60 percent from the field to down by 10 shooting 27 percent. They couldn’t score and jvs solution was to put in O’Neal and Dennis smith jr. two non scorers. I don’t care how good or bad a teams defense is if they can’t score they won’t win anyway

His been doing that to CT the whole season. You cannot just pull out and pull in a players in certain stretches. How can you develop someone if you don't trust him enough to learn from his mistakes?

His been doing that to CT the whole season. You cannot just pull out and pull in a players in certain stretches. How can you develop someone if you don't trust him enough to learn from his mistakes?

I’m starting to think JV played Thomas out of pressure from the suits .. as long as JV is coaching here its very much likely Thomas will never expand his game .. like you said how can one learn from his mistakes to develop if there’s no trust from the head coach

This was a bad game in which any complaint could be right, but also not totally informative. I think it went beyond any single player's performance, or misuse, and although I found some substitution patterns weirder than usual, not even much of a coaching matter. I could be wrong, of course, but that's my job. I think the problem was that they shot 54.2/54.5/80%, and we shot 38/26.1/64.5%. That is abject failure. I do not think it has been a pattern, and maybe should be expected, hopefully only occasionally, because of our position in the hierarchy.

So, without wanting to over-react, it could be our player absences or merely a slump, I do wonder if we should do something, in the trade market, to improve, even if moderately, within the limitations of avoiding the repeater tax.
