Cam Thomas has "team option" on his contract for 23-24 and 24-25, and Vaughn doesn't want him, so....

will the Nets let Cam go? He clearly can score big, the youngest player ever to score 3 straight 40s, and was freakishly consistent before Vaughn totally pushed him out....
Cam had a stretch of 16 games with averages of 20.0 points, .462 field, .413 threes and 1.8 turnovers in 24.5 minutes!
Surely Cam deserves a chance somewhere else

He needs to be on a lottery team that will give him the green light to chuck up shots. He brings nothing else to the table.

Nope. At $4mil, you keep him around for depth unless another team is interested. Harris, Curry and O'Neale are all FAs before that option year.

This is such a waste of a career.... he'd average 25ppg-30ppg if he started, but instead he's getting DNPs.

Yeah in China
Cam averaged 20.0 points in 24.5 minutes for 16 games, and was consistently benched throughout.
Imagine what would happen if he had a supportive coach....

Fringe players don't shoot like Cam Thomas and enter the history books as the youngest player ever to score 3 straight 40s....

He doesn't need to improve, he's already .462 field, .413 threes, when given 24.5 minutes per game....

Can’t play defense, can’t spot up, can’t facilitate and while his best attribute is his scoring he’s not efficient enough with the shots he gets. There’s a reason why his best games are when he gets the green light to take 25-30 shots, usually when a bunch of guys are out.

He is efficient enough, easily, as his 16 games proved, 20.0ppg on just 13.8 shots per game.
And plenty of Nets can't play defense, so why is he picked on for that?

He's still an asset so you keep him just to retain his value. He definitely needs to be traded in the offseason, since JV is the head coach.

Bridges is literally better than Thomas at all of those things

Cam is a one dimensional player that needs heavy volume to be effective. There's a reason why he doesn't play, but he's still a good asset that can be paired with other salary.
