GT: Nets @ Miami Heat 11/1 - 7:30PM EST

Post#1 » by Stone » Wed Nov 1, 2023 11:01 am

Nor sure what is going on in Miami but they have started the season 1-3. But there is no doubt Spo wants to turn it around. So we can expect the Heat to really go all out to win this game.

As for us, we opened the season with two heartbreakers. Then we convincingly beat the Hornets on the road, with two starters sitting out. Tonight is going to be a more difficult challenge, but with our depth and Jacque going 10 deep in our rotation all we need is solid minutes from the bench to really compete and get the win.

Injury report Nets.....Can Johnson and Nic Claxton both out.
Questionable...Spencer and Dennis Smith Jr.

Injury Report Heat......Caleb Martin out
Questionable......Jimmy Butler, Bam and Haywood Highsmith.

I mean Miami wasn't a great regular season team last year and they didn't make significant changes... This could just be who they are.

Bam is going to give the Nets hell with Claxton out :(

Miami is overrated. They went on a lucky run in the playoffs last year, aided by a Giannis injury & a crazy hot streak from behind the arc. They flirted with not making the play-in, and they were almost eliminated in the play-in round.

What MIA has is really good coaching. That matters too. They will try to exploit the fact we have no rim protector w/o Clax.

If our 3 ball is working tonight we can beat them though.

I'm not even mad about the Simmons foul, because it just means he'll be on the bench. He hurts us when he's out there, so the less he plays, the better.

Honestly, does anyone see Simmons do anything offensively? Like, I have zero idea what he actually does for the offense in any way. He immediately passes it and just stands there any time he catches the ball. Like, literally just being able to hit an open 3 makes you a way more valuable player offensively than Simmons.

I don't think his defense is all that either, I actually think he's pretty much always out of the play.

Considering the way we shot, we are still only down ten. Got to protect the ball in the second half limit the TO's.

Seeing our end of the rotation guys out there and hustling big. Hopefully Cam can turn it around.

Ben Simmons was too scared to attack Butler and passed the ball to the Heat

Next step is for Ben to start attacking when he's got that much space... Also I hate this handoff plays we run for Mikal almost every single play in the clutch...

That has been the next step for Ben for the past 3 years. He hasn't fixed it then and he won't fix it now
