Sucks that we got knocked out of the IST on a shot that had no consequence on the game.

I think Ian towards the end said Nets needed to win by 19.

Whatever. End of group play just means less f :censored: ugly courts to watch. I couldn't care less about this in season tournament. Got the W, nobody got hurt (actually, might have to keep an eye on Lonnie).

Plus I think we get some time off at some point which should help with the injuries

Also on a side note, we really need to figure out how to trade Ben Simmons. He doesn't fit on this team at all. There hasn't been one moment since he went down, where I thought, "man I wish Ben was playing". Watford does pretty much the same thing as Simmons and but has better offensive IQ

Raptors are trash. Nets owned them when KD was here, still own them.

I got banned from the Raptors board for calling Barnes ugly in a throwaway comment. That's how delusional and defensive they are when it comes to Barnes.

Who's going to take Ben in a trade though? Best plan of action is to wait for him to expire, since nobody is taking his contract unless if we give up assets.

Ben does some things well but his inability to defend at the 5 really hurts his value when he's so limited on offense already.

For some reason I was thinking the top two teams in groups moved on. I haven't been following the tournament rules that closely. Probably should have watched RJ's explainer

Also agreed on the courts. Not really sure why the NBA thought the copy and past courts were cool. I kinda like the team colors being the primary court colors, but that's the only redeeming factor.

I think there was only going to be one extra game though, which is the final. All other games also count towards the regular season so its not like we'd be getting a ton of extra rest.

To my younger co-fans of the Nets, ... just be thankful that they didn't get kicked out of this "In Season Tourney" thingie because of missing boards on the floor at the Long Island Arena!!!

The IST has been a success. The games do feel more meaningful.

There's definitely room for improvement, e.g. guaranteeing the winner a top 6 seed in the playoffs. I do like Isola's idea for when the league gets to 32 teams (no wild card, 8 groups of 4 with each team playing the other teams in their group twice (home and away)).

East B & West A were always going to wind up with the wild card teams because of having two cellar dwellers in the same group. There needs to be a way to not have tiebreakers based on how far teams run up the score on bad teams. Cap the point diff per game at 15 or so (remove incentive to "Hack-a-Player" while up big in the 4th) or in a 3 team tie make the point differential only amongst the tied teams (i.e. ignore the scores vs Toronto & Chicago. That would have had ORL at -3. BOS at -3 & BRK at +6).

man it's crazy how well this team has done considering all the injury circumstances so far this year.

i think i posted this somewhere but going into the year i expected the offense to be better than people expected (bc expectations were low) and defense to be worse than expected (bc expectations were high there). so with that having played out and the injuries, and a tough schedule, i would have been way under 9-8. especially since they've been in until the last possession on a bunch of the losses.

i think this is clearly a .500+ roster, how far beyond that they go is i think just how much the defense can improve over the season. they have the individual talents, JV has done a good job but he needs to find a scheme that elevates the team defense beyond individual players.
