It’s good to see Clowney get some playing time. We need to develop the young players to have a chance in the future

man we suck !! Ollie has been solid so far, I like how he started fouling the other team with a minute left instead of waiting to 20 seconds or less. It gave us a small chance at the end, we just suck tho.

Never understood the talk about making the playin when it’s been obvious that we’ve been bad for some time now

It was never going to happen as we’re a bottom 5 team in the league

I agree with much of the dejection expressed, and with the Simmons news am also not expecting too much for the remainder of the season. But look at our bench tonight. I believe much of our problems resulted from being limited by the repeater tax and it affected how, and with whom, we replaced losses this summer. Our deadline trades just compounded our depth problems. Losing O'Neale made us substantially worse. Schroder alleviated the loss of Spencer and was awesome in the World Games, so he is good. But, most importantly, he gave us an $8 mil reduction in next years payroll. With the loss of Royce's $9.5 mil we should be far enough from the luxury tax to be, at least, somewhat more encouraged about next year as far as summer and trade deadline decisions.

It was only the Pistons, but I cant complain too much about tonight. Absent two starters, collectively averaging 35 PPG, our starters stayed even with the opposition, with a 0 plus/minus difference. Schroder gave us 18 points over his average here and DSJ's 9 helped somewhat offset the loss of the Cams. Our bench, however, was a cumulative minus 30. All we had was Walker. But there is hope, even for the remainder of the year, because our depth will be substantially improved when Thomas, Johnson, and Sharpe get back. There may be time to still finish stronger, at least be more watchable, and even (if now looking less likely) make the playoffs. I think Ollie has us playing harder, and IMO his player usage, particularly late in games, has been better.
