If what they say is true 2 small trades

Post#1 » by vincecarter4pres » Sat Jan 5, 2008 2:22 pm

If it is true the Bucks are really making everyone available, how do you guys feel about Villanueva?

I know we almost have an overload of bigs to rotate, considering we have no real star, although we have 2 guys(S.Will and Boone) that are coming into their own and deserve decent minutes unless we make a major trade.

And we have Nenad if and when he comes back ready and true to form.

But, Villanueva, if he could be had on the cheap, I mean very cheap as in Wright and Malik Allen, might be a nice bench option to play around 16-20 mpg. HE's kind of a poor mans Al Harrington.

Also the other guy I was thinking of, again, if he would come on the cheap, is Rasual Butler. If we could have him for the same, Malik Allen and Wright I think he would be a nice shooter/scorer to come off the bench for some decent minutes, 15-20 as well.

Any thoughts?

I would love to have Villinueva or our roster. My only concern is will Lawrence Frank play him? I think that is the main contributing factor in Rod Thorns personnel moves. Can he trade for or sign someone that Lawrence Frank is going to play?

JJ, Thanks for not trying to spell Villa, i'm following you because I cant spell it.

His range for 3pt is decent but I dont know if we need that. Outside of Redd there is nobody on that roster that could pushes over the top.

Plus 2 first round picks. RJ rotates off the bench for VC & Redd & still gets his 30mins. We would never have to worry about losing the lead with RJ coming off the bench. I could just see it now Redd stroking all those open look 3s.

Redd would want to start. Playing with Kidd won't change that.

He would....RJ would be the one to sit & relieve VC(SF) & Redd(SG).

Pugsley_2491

We would have to give up 2 first rounders. There would be no chance then for us to get Redd without them included. They could decide for themselves if they want to resign Wright, Boki & Nenad.

Yeah that goes double for RJ, especially with the time he's spent here.

I'd love to have Redd here, but there is no way we could get him without drama stirring up. I'd rather we go after Villanueva.

Though I doubt this would happen, I would rather have Redd.

RJ would probably have to go to the bench, but image VC coming of the bench. Our Starting lineup would never be down by 10 pts. If we need to pick up the offense, VC comes into the game teams would have to change their D strategy.

Like I said even though this wont happen, I think Mags may have to be included because of expiring contract. I dont know who you would have to swap. Maybe instead of Nachbar. I do think another young player like M. Will or Boone might need to be included with the draft picks.

Sorry man.

I hate that small ball $hit. Most likely, RJ would have to come off the bench.

RJ nor VC would come off the bench for the rest of the season. no matter how much of a team player they are, its impossible it would cause nothing but problems, rod thorn wouldn't do this. the only thing we will get is a post player.

Wow great trade, works for both teams!
For those that say that our players will never accept a 6th man role, thats BS as long as we give them good minutes like Im sure we will, no one's gonna mind especially RJ.

you obviously havent looked much into the minds of basketball players. not to offend you, but this comment just isnt true. VC has a HUGE ego and RJ, after starting so long, isnt want to come off of the bench.

Its easy to say that you can still give a bench player minutes, but you can never guarantee someone gets good minutes, especially someone off the bench.

This trade is completely unrealistic.
If they are going to trade Redd they can get a lot more for him than a semi expiring, a small expiring, a looks to be career journeyman in Wright, who is also an expiring, and a huge risk in Krstic, who if he does come back to form has to be resigned, 2 prbrably high 1st rounders and they already have to up and coming bigs in Yi and Bogut, let alone if they hang on to Villanueva.

Plus they're trading him in conference?

Never.

If they did trade him in conference it would probrably be to the Bulls for Deng or Gordon plus filler and a 1st rounder.
Or to Miami for Jason Williams and Ricky Davis and 2 1st rounders, next years being unprotected.
Maybe LAL for Kwame, Farmar, Radman and a 1st.

Talent for talent they probrably go swap for T Mac or Memhis for Mike Miller, Swift and Lowery.

Let alone what everyone else is saying that not one of Redd, VC or RJ will come off the bench, and no you cannot succesfully start RJ at the 4 night in and night out.
