Just took too long to start playing with intensity. Defense is slacking a bit. Anderson still has that tendency to make a bunch of sweet saves, then give up a weak looking deflating goal. Not too worried though, we have the personnel to be a good defensive team as the season goes on.

Hopefully Leafs can win tonight or at least pull out a point.

My Bro in law is at the game in person I think(He is a diehard/hardcore Flyers fan).

andersen is playing like ****. Granted the defensive coverage isnt helping him at all.

But sit his ass down for a game.

Yeah, this team is playing defense like the Lou Williams era Raptors.

Yeah, I see it that way too. That's why I'm not so high on them about being a cup contender already.

Just like that team, their young and will get better but the upside is more plentful to become a contender for years to come in the NHL.

Every game always with the same turnover, leading to odd man rush to an easy goal right by inconsistent ass Anderson. Tired of this cycle again, and again.

Guess it's nice that we get our first big losing streak of the losing out of the way early.

I warned my Leafs buddies that they needed to chill, and not set expectations too high. This has a great core but they still have so many holes to fill, especially on the blue line. This team will still probably get to the playoffs but top of the East or whatever was always a bit overboard.

Drew Doughty on the Leafs:

“They can improve defensively, but that’s not just on their defence. It’s on their top forwards playing good defence too. That’s how you create a good defensive team. It’s how we did it here.

Not even the great Doughty can save this sorry ass team. Can we even make the playoff?

The defense is fine. It always gets ripped because old school hockey doesn't like the way Gardiner plays. He's always had these bad swings, but at the end of the year he always grades out as a #1 pairing guy. The bottom pairing is irrelevant, but Borgman was playing well until they signed Polak, who is slow to begin with and is coming off a major injury. That's more of a signing for the playoffs anyway as a depth piece.

Their goaltending has been bad. And then I'd say that the Marner-Bozak-JVR line was atrocious, and now it's been broken up as a result. They can't really take a leap if Marner regresses this year, he's supposed to be one of their core 3. So, when Freddie gets hot again and those players start to pick it up the team will seem a lot better defensively.

That fast start to the season feels like a dream now lol. Not going to win many games giving 4-6 goals a game.

Our offense isn't as explosive either. We're struggling from top to bottom. I don't think it's just Marner's regression either. He's been better of late and the team still looks like ass.

Then again, I'm not surprised. The 2nd year after a playoff appearance is always the toughest for a young team.
