We just ventured into old and worse basketball, took Deuce out of the rotation, and there is no way we are beating Boston.

Gross.

I'm also unsure as to how to feel about this trade overall. Let's see how it pans out. I personally am gonna miss Grimes and what he brought to the team.....his defense was stellar.

BTW I share your sentiment on Mitch.....he is a good defender but I never feel All-NBA defense level...but we'll see. I do think that with Embiid injured and Milwaukee in disarray the FO may be feeling like they can go far once Randle and OG and Mitch return.

... Bucks and 6ers in some disarray but Bucks are better. Boston is not within reach.

Pistons fan here.

Well, you guys know what you're getting with Burks. Bojan should be a big boon to your offense, pretty much the ideal scoring forward as long as he's sheltered heavily defensively which he will be on the Knicks.

Give me the scoop on Grimes. I've always liked him and am surprised that he was included in a Burks trade, has he fallen off that much or was just a victim of a numbers game?

KnicksGod wrote:Wow I really disagree with the majority here. You'd think Bo is like some really good player. He's not. Grimes has a good career ahead of him.

But, I hope I'm wrong, I guess. I hate watching guys like Burks, Bo and Mitch. They stink folks.

I think this one you have a little wrong. Bo is a very very good player...if he was 3-4 years younger he'd be costing additional FRPs....his shooting is absolute elite..I mean close to Klay Thompson level elite. He is a legit 40% 3 point shooter for his entire career and completely consistant at it. I actually like the fact that we are deep again....I think for a team to survive Thibs you need to give him 10 playable guys that he can trust.

Still sucks to lose Grimes.

Actually their numbers are almost identical: Klay shoots 45%/41%/86% for his career while Bo shoots 46%/40%/86% for his career.

Grimes airball 3 in Miami was his Nick Anderson moment.

Was never the same.

So sad.

To say we added two 40% 3 point shooters is to say these guys should play a lot of minutes. Replacing minutes of whom?

how are we replacing deuce? we just made him the only point guard on the team other than brunson by trading flynn. burks is here to back up donte and bog is here for much needed forward depth (especially with both our starting forwards out). this trade makes sense in terms of team need. i liked grimes, but with og's 3/D and donte's emergence, he was one of the more redundant pieces on the roster. this is another step towards improved balance, like the previous trade was

Another personal victory is that Mitch is the last man standing among the promising youth we so needed to build around.

McBride and Sims too I suppose, but they never carried the same expectations as those first-round picks.

BTW I hope this is does not mean bad news in regards to Randle and OG......we added two guys that will play a lot of minutes.

Bojan is only 31.

Bogdan is 31. Bojan is 34.

Ahhh yes my mistake.

Isn't Fournier a high % shooter -- wouldn't Fournier also play and do well on a team as bad as Detroit? This is a stupid move.

Burks has been a flamethrower the last 5 weeks or so. Bojan has been #1 or #2 in contested jumper FG% the past two years and super high up there in off the dribble 3 point percentage as well. Knicks offense got a huge boost with this trade.

After making this trade, not making the ECF at least would be a let down IMO.

No you'll see Burks as the backup 1 and first guy off the bench when Brunson sits. He'll also play some 2, as Deuce has.

fantastic perimeter defender. one of the best gaurds in the league at fighting over screens. shot has been very inconsistent this year and hes struggled with confidence but the shooting form and release is legit and I think he’ll turn it around. can become a very valuable 3-D wing for ya’ll
