I love this signing for the Knicks. Donte is a versatile player who can play PG-SF if you need him to. Plays tough with a high motor. His IQ on both ends of the court makes players around him better. One of the best perimeter extra passers in the league. Can knock the 3 down with range and has a great handle to get to the basket and finish. One of those guys that just finds a way to be in the right place at the right time.

Knicks will be able to play him with anyone in their backcourt without a problem. IQ, Donte and Hart will be a transition nightmare for teams off the bench and good luck scoring or rebounding with them hitting the boards. Donte D is essentially everything we hope Grimes can be as he develops. They will be interchangeable with each other.

Exactly my point.. we were most competitive against Heat and our 2nd and 3rd best guys were playing like garbage.

Nice! Seems he’s kinda like Alex Caruso. Not quite as good on D (close though) but a little better on offense and the boards. More about his intangibles than raw numbers. I’ll take that all day.

Donte is going to get a real chance to grab the starting SG spot. Im sure they sold him on that. Grimes better come correct in the fall if he wants to hold onto it. Donte didnt sign here to play 15 mpg, so hes either playing a solid 25+ off the bench or starting.
