Remember that draft. I was so sick we passed on Allen. I hadn’t even heard of Jones.
I have come to accept Jones but wouldn’t mind moving on (now that he has had serious injuries. Ticking time bomb.)

We need a lot but think our defense will be very good and who knows, maybe all the offensive signings will pan out.

But if we trade the future for a QB, he better pan out.
I almost rather go receiver and try to get more picks to trade up next year for a QB.

I just hope if we draft JJ, we don’t trade up for him.

I don't really care about a trade up or not. Just get the pick right. If its a QB, and they get that pick right. No one will care about the trade up.

Don't think anyone goes back and say damn I wish we didn't trade with chargers to get Eli?

I remember up until Super Bowl XLII, that was the case among a lot of Giants fans. Rivers, Merriman, and Kaeding was not a bad haul.

It’s a little different tho come on man.
Lol

That manning name is royalty.

Giants fans were hyped for that. Ain’t nobody being hyped like yo we trading assets for JJ. And this come from a dude that was hyping him up since you said the Giants were looking at him.

20/20 is everything but as of today it’s hard to get excited for trading up for those 2.

there's also levels to hitting. if we trade up for one of these guys and they become a top 5 qb, then sure great it's worth it. but what if they just below that and only above average? it's immediately not worth it all those picks given up.

top 5 qbs dont grow on trees, it's a big risk to take

It wasn't meant to compare them. Just saying if you believe one of them is "THE" guy. After doing extensive research why risk losing him to another team that would trade in front of you? This isn't a scenario where its like oh man if someone picks a WR we like we can pick the next best one and be ok. This is the QB position. You gotta have conviction.

Why wouldn't you secure the player. We know how important the QB position is. Sure would I like to get the QB without trading up but if they truly believe this is the guy for the next 10-15 years...make sure you get him. That's all I'm saying.

I hear that.

Bro me and you been the like only one pushing QB here for the most part. What are we securing tho is the question. It’s easier to see it with daniels but with Maye and JJ we really have to be wishing on a star for a trade up.

At the end of the day I won’t be mad if we do it. just not excited.

Daniels is going #2 that has been locked in for a minute from what I have seen.

Most sources say Maye is our guy. He has all the tools but needs to clean up stuff. Maye and even JJ are like 3 years younger than some of these other QB's as well. So you have to put that into perspective.

I will say this if we are spending assets for either of those two. Maye is the better choice to spend assets on.

Maye is certianly more boom bust...but Daboll is suppose to be a QB developer...that is what he is hear to do. He has size, arm strength, athleticism. Its footwork and naunces he needs to clean up but he's young.

This is there make or break pick. If they do it and have conviction its sink or swim time. They aren't just going a safe route...they are betting there careers on this pick.

If we can keep 47 in this deal...I wouldn't rule out trading for Brandon Aiyuk either. Since we will be cutting Daniel Jones...and having a rookie QB salary....we will be able to give a #1 WR top dollar.

Aiyuk is the goods.

Aiyuk extension wouldn't kick in until the following year since he's under contract this year. Giants I think would do one of two things. Have DJ pass a physical so that his injury clause doesn't kick in and then Post June 1 cut him. Or just keep him on the PUP list for most of the year.

I don't think they would have him, Lock, and Maye on the roster at once. Maye will sit most of the year if not all the year. But Lock I guess could hold down the job for one year because you know the heir apparent is in the building.

GIants have to be careful wih Daniel Jones injury clause. If he is on the roster at the end of the year and gets hurt more guaranteed money will kick in to his contract (kinda like the russell wilson situation). And a team moving on from a QB doesn't want that. So its best to probably not play next year because of that. Especially now that you are signaling he isn't your future at QB.

I do think it’s a little bit different to trade up for the “top rated QB” in the draft vs the guy that’s stock has dramatically rose after the season ended. I’m sure Eli’s numbers/tape were more impressive and having that pedigree helped too. That’s where a lot of my apprehension is coming from. Maybe it works out but it be better if it works out and we get to keep the extra picks.
