I'll take the wing player averaging 29/7/7/2/1 with a crap supporting cast.

I agree. Kobe brings an aura around him. When he came to the garden two weeks ago, the buzz and feeling was unique.

Thanks for the replies. I was on the Dwight side when I discussed it with my friend, but obviously you can't go wrong either way.

Lebron...by a landslide for me! The way the game is played now you have to have versatile players who can do multiple things on the floor....Howard is a major beast, but someone still needs to get him the ball for him to be effective while La Breezy can get it and go!

It's a tough choice. Dwight can change the game with defense but at the same time he is useless on the offense without a solid PG to get him the ball. LeBron can score with the best of them but his game still has flaws. His clutch free throw shooting leaves a lot to be desired and his outside shot still isn't great. However, he did lead his team to the Finals with essentially no help. If I had a good PG already or was confident that I could acquire one I would take Dwight. Otherwise I couldn't pass up LeBron. -Jitpal

Dwight Howard

Start with the big man then get a good PG.

Lebron James. Just compare what he did with a mediocre cast last year to what Dwight did with a mediocre cast last year. Dwight... swept in 4 games by the Pistons. Lebron... beat the Pistons singlehandedly in 7 games in the ECF.

Basically, I value a player of Lebron's talent more, even though Dwight is a great big man. Lebron has everything you'd ask for out of a wing... unselfish, makes his teammates better, a great scorer, a great defender...

If Lebron could make jumpshots there would be no contest. If Howard could shoot FTs, there would be no contest.

That being said, the two are pretty much equal. Considering it is MUCH harder to find a quality big man than a quality wing, I think you would have to go with Dwight. I mean Orlando added a decent wing player in Rashard Lewis and look how well the Magic are playing. It will be much harder for Cleveland to find a quality big to pair with James...

I'll have to go with Howard. Consider that Howard just turned 22 years old and is already the most dominant big man in the NBA. If he ever refines his post game he can have the same impact that Wilt Chamberlain had in the NBA when he played. And that's not in any way to discount Lebron James.

Damn this is a tough question, but I think I take Howard. Did I really say that ? Boy I must be stupid.

I just think having a dominant CENTER is so important when building a team. He protects the paint and intimidates. He is the glue of your defense. That's why I go with the big.

Howard has also impressed me this year with his offensive game. He has come a long way in a short time. He's going to be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come.

On the other hand Lebron is great at everything and shows exceptional leadership qualities. I still take Howard though because he's a center.

Oh.. by the way I got to get my Curry dig in here. When they were comparing Curry to Howard last year it made me sick to my stomach. I'm real glad Howard has differentiated himself from Curry this year so I can watch and talk basketball without hearing all of that crap again.

Typically the answer would be to pick the big man. Here is an exception. You can't take a once in a decade center over a once in a lifetime talent in Lebron.

good question - easy answer.

Lebron

the game has changed and versatile wings are more important than centers even

besides, lebron makes everyone better. Howard hasnt done that yet.
