Brunson played 30 minutes in a game that was over in 6 minutes.

Half our team is hurt, and you still running defense for him?

Thibs plays his guys way too much, no doubt about that, but our injuries are not a result of fatigue or playing too many minutes. Both those things can, and are true.

OG's injury was overuse, he got hurt just jumping, he had played 42, 45, 50 and 47 minutes before he got hurt. The problem with people defending Tom is that this happened to the Bulls and Bulls fans were trying to defend him until it became apparent that he was in fact a leading cause of their injury problems. I don't know how anyone can look at the Bulls, then look at us and not see the same thing playing out. What he has done with Josh Hart is just lunacy and indefensible.

We'll limp into the playoffs again next year, and people will still be defending him.

I’d rather be the current Knicks and the 2011 bulls than the pistons

We're a Brunson injury away from being the Nets.

We could always just get a coach that doesn't drive players into the ground too.

Just looked at both box scores from tonight. 9 guys played 40 plus minutes. Shocker, it's not just thibs doing this in the playoffs.

I couldn't take reading through all the negativity and forgetfulness that it's only Game 5 and the series is NOT over. So, I'll just say this:

As fans, we naturally get caught up in the competition of the game. However, to the league, we have to remember that games are only a means of entertainment and a billion-dollar money-making machine.

This has been one of the most exciting series in all of the NBA. With that said, it's in the league's best interest to extend it as long as possible (to make more money). I'll even go further to say it's in their best interest to have a KNICKS vs Celtics ECF over a Pacers vs Celtics ECF (it would be a bigger money maker and again, it's all about the money).

Rest assured that the KNICKS will come out tonight as if somebody slapped their mama's. I also expect the league to make the whistles lean more in our favor tonight.

I predict a win tonight -- and the possibility of a Game 7 (Adam Silver would LOVE it). However, in the end, KNICKS vs Celtics may already be the plan. It would be more entertaining, and a much bigger money-maker for the league.

DON'T GIVE UP HOPE NOW!!!

It's hard to know if OG is simply injury-prone or if excessive minutes played into this injury. Management needs to take this into account, one way or the other, this summer. Being closer to the situation, they need to look into this (especially given the contract that OG is likely expecting).

True.

OG was avg 40 mins in the playoffs. I know it's the playoffs but OG will definitely find a way to miss games if you play him extended minutes. He's super injury prone...Have to manage the personnel better.

All the top 10 postseason minutes leaders have been eliminated in the first round.
Of the top 10, only Josh Hart, Brunson, and Luka remain. :o

It is an open question whether Thibs causes injuries but you can’t deny he is using his roster in a different way than every other coach. Don’t just look at the minutes total. Look whether other coaches give any sort of breaks to their players. Thibs is unique in that. I don’t see many other coaches keeping players 48 minutes straight or whole halves for that matter. You can still use your player 40-42 minutes while giving them short breaks. Thibs doesn’t even believe in that short breaks. Heck sometimes all you need is a time out for the sake of a break.

I know it’s Dan Tony, but this Knick team reminded me of the 06 Suns, and he also played 7 guys into the Conference Finals. I’m sure there are many examples but what we’re doing isn’t unprecedented.

Big dawg I been on these boards for a while, finally joined, why so negative man I mean I have yet to read something positive. The sky is not falling, all hope is not lost. We took the same team down to a ridiculous 3 point attempt away from a 3-0 lead the game before. Zebras made it abundantly clear they weren’t gonna let us play D the way they let them play D games 3 and 4. That will change tomorrow

I'm negative because the outlook is negative and it pisses me off. I'm pissed at reality right now.

The Knicks have too many injuries to cvercome.

Yes, the Pacers aren't all that. They are one of the crappiest playoff teams I've witnessed win 2 games in a 2nd round in a LONG time.

Now the Knicks, as currently available, are a worse team than that. Sucks, but the truth hurts.

Instead people are in here trying to tell a double leg amputee they'll be high jumping again in no time.
No, in fact, that person's high jumping days are over. Just like the Knicks playoff run is over.

And it's to the midwestern f*ckwit Pacers, which really blows. But that's life. It's hard, then you die.

Knicks will win a championship and you'd still be negative lets be real.

i don't know that he has a choice right now but to overplay guys. we lost 1 rotation player before round 1. we lost another in the last series and 2 at the beginning of this series. that's 4 of your top 8. it's been a snowball effect. josh is playing 48 minutes and he's not even supposed to be a starter.

i said it a couple days ago that the knicks might need to think about filling the end of their bench with semi-washed vets instead of projects like sims, toppin, jeffries. he's not gonna play them and they shouldn't be playing if a situation like this arises again. sims was awful out there in the last game. good or bad, he'd trust taj gibson to play 4 minutes a half.

Nope.

If Knicks were a hospital patient, they'd be in hospice.

Still alive, but only technically.

I would disagree here. The adult world’s loss of intelligent humor and lightness is what’s wrong with society and life in general. Don’t be that guy pointing the finger demanding seriousness in a recreational forum.

Same… it’s an easy answer. Just let him choose which vets.
