The game went by fast and the quick pace kept me engaged. I'm glad MLB is evolving.

Born in Manhattan, raised in Jersey.

That's super EXTRA Jersey (it's literally me and lots of others I knew growing up).

 You can't even enjoy an Opening Day 5-0 victory? I believe that the MLB season is still 162 games. There's still time.

This was the first opening day I stopped to watch in the last few years, usually I wait to dive in during the dog days of summer but this season just has me excited for all 162

I’m on the amazinavenue.com game thread and people are already calling for Eduardo Escobar’s head even though he had a base hit and made no errors in the field.

You know what’s incredible is that he still has that same sharp 12-6 bite to his curveball that he had during his good years with the Yankees. I don’t know how/why you got didn’t keep him. Cashman?

I dunno. He was a good homegrown guy, knew how to deal with NYC pressure, solid. Maybe more of an injury risk?

I believe that despite them winning, the offense continued to take the homerun or nothing approach until the seventh inning. That is a bit of a concern when you have to face the Houston Astros in the playoffs.

But they're the same type of humble, play so far in excess of anyone trying to evaluate them solely by raw physical tools, ultra-competitive, only focused on WINNING, sneak up on you type star player that is made to be truly beloved by New York City.

Volpe is totally in the Brunson mold. As Yankee fans we're lucky though, because he has a little bit more raw talent in my view. Just like Brunson, when he's standing next to other stars, or compared to their physical attributes it'll be easy to try and downplay him. And like Jalen the production numbers will SPEAK for this kid eventually, even if he's out there intentionally not drawing attention to himself.

Our rotation is pretty bad right now. The injuries have decimated it.

The lineup hasn’t helped things either what has really changed aside from a rookie giving us a spark.
