Leon and Co. were raked across the coals for not wanting to put us in that position.

This is why the "untouchable Grimes lolKnicks" narrative was so dumb.

The Mitchell trade would have made us smaller, conflict with Brunson, cost us draft capital and would have used the same assets we flipped for OG.

It was always about more than Grimes

I don't think its the trade thats bad for them. Garland and Mobley just haven't developed at all like they thought they would.

I could see LeBum going back to Cleveland to join Spida and Mobley who could be the bootleg version of Wade and Bosh. After they draft Bronny of course.

Kevon Looney played through pain like that in the 2019 Finals. Not sure if he got a shot for pain or not , and it was collarbone not ribs, but I remember him really toughing it out

Collarbone is different. Rib contusions mess with your breathing. I couldn't fathom doing a sprint right now and it's been a few weeks. Walking to check the mail or do laundry at my complex was a disaster early on.

I'm all for crapping on the Cavs but I can't cast judgment on Allen over this, I'd be hypocrite.

Not too long ago, he was considered the best big in the whole city of Brooklyn. I'm not going to say he's wrong for refusing the shot to play with a real injury, but he was always soft. His great shot-blocking ability seemed to vanish when he got dunked on by some better players. Cleveland is not built to win the playoffs, and I'd have loved playing them -- but NOT at the expense of tanking to get them instead of continuing our winning culture.

If we get to play Boston in the ECF, all I want to see is our guys playing the best they can and playing the way they play best. Boston is a good team and we're down 4 important players, but I'm not going to give them the win by any means. We could pull this off, but I'm going to love our guys and our team no matter what they do.

Also, I think that a team that gets through a round by playing an easier team to beat does not grow and toughen up the way a team does when it plays against a good competitor. Look at our game 5 against Indy -- we adapted to their efforts to stop us, and after the players recovered enough to play hard again, we really shut them down. I'm certain some of those lessons will come in very handy against Boston. Yes, I'm counting on us getting there now.

Allen is soft, I agree. I just understand how painful and dehabilitating that injury is. Today is literally the first day in weeks where I didn't wake up feeling pain. I seriously underestimated how much it takes for a human being just to walk normally. I tried taking my trash out a day after I got hurt and I felt like I was going to suffocate. I can't imagine going out trying to play 30 mins of NBA playoff basketball, shot or no shot.

That Cavs team was poorly constructed. I would have blown that up after the way Mitch beat Allen and Mobley's asses single handedly last year. They knew this was coming.

Right just watching that Cavs series...Boston will try to play it off like the were toying with their food...but they look very beatable without KP. Tatum looks like crap and if it wasn't for Derick White I think the Cavs series would go to 7 games.

The worst fans

Traveled the EC a long time ago and went to a baseball game in Boston. Was shocked how comfortble they were with being openly racist. They were spitting disgusting sht to me just assuming I was cool with it cause I was white, too. Made me realize that it has to be common practice.

It's insane to me that the entire Celts team is 99% Black, the coach is Black, their star players are all Black and yet these people hate Black people. I don't understand it. It's bizarre and weird. It's the same thing with Indiana, Utah, and OKC fans. Like what possesses you to root for a team full of Black people yet you're calling opposing players racial slurs? Who raised them?

I'm not painting all Boston fans with that brush obviously, because truth is there are lots of fans that aren't about that, but it's still disturbing. I wouldn't want to play there if I was in the league.

Boston’s entire second unit are pasty face white guys. Tatum went to Duke. Jaylen is probably the cleanest cut and most intelligent player in the entire NBA. Bill Russell paved the way for their acceptance a long time ago.

I’ve been to Utah, Indy, and OKC. Their racism is very different because there aren’t many/any black people around. What’s amazing about Boston is the resilience of anti-black racism in a highly populated liberal northeast city. The Larry Bird era and the Patriot’s dynasty didn’t help, and neither does the Barstool movement. But I digress.

Oh, and my favorite Racist Celtics fun fact: Go to any sports bar in any major city in America and you will find white guys rooting for the Celtics. The Great White Hope endures and gives secret (or not so secret) Trump voters a rationalization to follow the NBA.

And one more: Brad Stevens is the whitest man in America, but it’s a close call with Danny Ainge.
"Sell the team. Sell the team. Sell the team."
