well.. first and foremost, durant signing a 1 + 1 just means he is opting out in 2017 and resigning to a long term deal. therefore next summer is when teams need cap space to sign him. not sure if thats what you meant by saying "in 2 years"

but to answer the melo question. yes there is still a cap hold if he opts out. Knicks would have to renounce him or melo would have to sign somewhere else for that cap hold to disappear

last question - a **** ton of cap space will be needed to sign both of them haha. gonna guess $65 mil cap space minimum.
