well he is a 1.5. I dont think thats a slight against him.
He's gotta improve still, but his improvement already has been awesome. From where he started to where he ended up...it's impressive. He's improved inside the arc, he's improved defensively, he's become a great rebounder.
I'd keep him over RJ at this point. Goes without saying over Randle too, but organizational politics and whatnot.
It's hard to justify keeping him over either of those guys, mainly because he wants starter money but as long as Brunson is here he's going to be a bench player, and in certain matchups you wont be able to play him & Brunson together for long stretches.
I might have a homeristic attachment to Quickley, but I'd be down to give him a shot at the 2, with the idea that he helps run the bench too. I think he's very switchable and he has the size to take the hardest of the 2 defensive assignments in the backcourt. Meanwhile, he'd benefit a lot from Brunson breaking down the d. However, it might be that he will need to go, because he sees himself as a starting PG.
Anyway, with a guy that improves this much, I want to lay a bet on that. Who else on this team has improved as much as Quickley on the Knicks?
