since we didn't get donovan mitchell, it looks like this is going to be brunson's team to run. whats your expectations on him? predictions? just trying to change the conversation on this board since we've been debating about the same things every day

i'll start my predictions

17.5 ppg 6.7 apg on 46/38/82 splits

At this time, 100% are excited to have a real PG.

There is a good chance this will change.

Forgot to say, your numbers look good. What I also care about is whether he can feed Julius, Mitch, Obi... let's see if he helps their games. Let's see if Julius can trust him enough to play his best game and not feel he needs to run the offense or take most of the shots. I also want to see Obi breaking ahead of the field and receiving passes to score. This could be key to a good year.

I think Brunson can take vanvleet or lamelo spot in all-star this year.

I voted yes, but part of me feels like this is going to be Ray Felton 2.0

Peak Knicks Felton was a more than respectful good player.

i'm a bit more cautious with my expectations, it's hard to know how much ball he's gonna get with randle and rj still needing the ball. i also don't think he'll have as much spacing and room to operate as he did in dallas.

~16.5ppg, ~5.5apg on 47/36/83 for me

Peak Knicks Felton was a more than respectful good player.

He was good, but he was bad more than he was good and how he played dictated if we would win or not. we did not win that much.

Can he pass it to Randle in the high post and clear out?

Looking forward to seeing him play. Hopefully Thibs doesn't run him into the ground and actually lets him run the offense.

Shooting percentages should go down. He's going from a 5-out offense to a team with Mitchell Robinson, Julius Randle and (to a lesser extent) RJ Barrett

He will not have the spacing in New York that he needs to get to the basket and finish as efficiently as he did in Dallas, because defenders will cheat off our forwards or center.

His passing should go up, since he's no longer playing alongside Luka, assuming his teammates let him run the offense.

I think he'll have a fine season overall but that he will struggle to fully express himself. I also expect some in-fighting over touches, and that he will receive his slice of the blame pie if/once he season goes south.

He's a 20ppg scorer if he's given the type of touches Alec Burks got as a starter. In the playoffs Brunson averaged 21.6ppg on 66.9 touches per game, Burks averages 70.6 touches as a starter.

He's going to have a breakout season.
