It pains me to say this but it looks like Cashman assembled a solid bullpen :-? these guys hold the line.

If we can just be super consistent with the bats now.

And there's some competition coming off the IL. Burdi is on assignment at Somerset. Kahnle is not too far off and has a bullpen session this Saturday and could begin assignment next week. Effross and Trivino will be back sometime this summer.

If we can just be super consistent with the bats now.

The bats are the reason why this team isn't the best in the league. I don't think a Yankees starter has an ERA over 4 and we all know how lights out the bullpen has been so far.

Only Soto has a BA over .300, but at the very least Judge, Verdugo, Rizzo, and Trevino have been trending better with the Detroit series into last night.

Yep if those guys can continue to provide the support we should be a lot better than we were versus the Orioles going forward.

Cashman always does that though. The big issue is how he kinda uses it as a bandaid for a poor rotation, especially for things that need to be planned for (injuries, pitch counts, innings limits, yips, etc).

It works well in the regular season but in the postseason, it can be a bigger problem because teams get regular looks at the same relievers throwing the same pitches.

Verdugo got that goon in him  they can make him shave, and limit him to one iced out chain per game, but he's still the same guy.

Yeah and I'm curious if we're going to make a move near the deadline to bring in another arm.

Infield hit from Soto on a bases loaded full count, Torres runs past third and stops halfway between third and home for some reason and goes back to third, where Volpe already is. The guy's baseball IQ is so low sometimes.

Gleyber making another bone headed play, he should have scored on that if he hustled with two outs, he is gone after this season.

It's like he stopped to watch Soto hustle to first and gave up because he thought he would be out. It's absolutely frustrating to watch him sometimes. Either stop at third with Judge coming up to bat or if you're already halfway home, go for it.

Judge and Stanton go with two solo homers. Stanton's was a if you blinked, you missed it. Holy crap.

That kid is getting grounded.

And out of nowhere, a beautiful glove flip from Torres.

Kept his walks under control for the most part, but kept finding himself in trouble as the Astros attacked him with 9 hits. Not a good start, but still left the bullpen and lineup in a position to win and the lineup certainly had its chances going 0-7 with RISP.

Stanton once again looks like he needs to retire. Ironic how the two homeruns that he had in this series came in blow out fashion, but when we desperately needed him to come through today he couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo.

To call up Burdi, Yanks sent down Marinaccio to protect Tonkin from waivers for some reason. Tonkin's ERA is fooling everyone.
