If Anthony Vople is good as hype then start the damn guy already. A freaking top 10 prospect should not be hold up by the like of IKF.

Image in my head of Hal Steinbrenner going "oh thank god, that way these fans won't be expecting me to pay all that money for him next offseason".

Boone got the word from Cashman that he's got to play Hicks cause Cash is tired of people saying that signing is terrible and cause Hal said if he's going to pay for a guy he better be playing.

I have completely given up on the Yankees after I found out that Cashman was brought back.

Volpe is the truth, no doubt about it. He should be on the ML roster from jump this year; hell he should've gotten a call-up at the end of last season. I haven't felt this way about a prospect since Nick Johnson. He's going to be an above-average starter in the worst-case scenario, with the probable outcome being a multi time All-Star. His prospect profile is nearly flawless - his arm being the only nit to pick - I still find myself in disbelief that the Yankees have such an incredible prospect on the verge of the Bronx.

That said, unless they give me a pleasant surprise and trade IKF, they'll probably send him to AAA until mid April no matter what in order to get the extra year of control.

RIP to Yankees 1B Joe Pepitone who just passed away. When I was a kid, both Mets and Yankees teams were horrible so I watched both on channels 9 and 11, respectively. I loved those Yankees teams with Pepitone, Tommy Tresh, Horace Clark, Roy White, Mel Stottlemeyer, and others. Back then, Pepitone was the next closest thing to Joe Namath in terms of being in the NYC night life spotlight.

If I recall correctly, Pep had a solid glove at 1B.

Horace Clark? You are probably the only person in America who remembers him. Was he a backup catcher?

And you call yourself a Yankees fan?

Horace Clarke was a switch-hitting second baseman. Very steady, if unspectacular. One of the better players on that team.

Bobby Cox played 3B.
