For this season and next you can do this trade:

Mitch
Grimes
Fournier
Picks

for

Capela
Murray

Then you resign iHart (who is currently 25 years old) and keep Capela for another year (has 1 more year after this season at age 30) or trade him in a different deal. And in the next season or two you look to add a young big through the draft or elsewhere to play with iHart.

Or we could not, keep Mitch & Grimes, and use Fournier's contract + picks on something else

I'm not saying I would. But that's one option.

If we can't get a star player, I think the right player/fit is a healthy Malcolm Brogdon. He spreads the floor, gives us a bench scorer and someone who can backup/play next to Brunson. Plus, he can eat up all the important minutes of Grimes/McBride for the playoffs.

Then you can run it back next season or use him in a trade to get a star.

Fournier, 1st round pick, 2 second round picks for Brogdon

or Fournier, Grimes, 1st round pick for Brogdon

I'd prefer to Keep Grimes for depth/asset.

If we can also get another big to backup iHart, that would be helpful as well.

After that, maybe the team has enough to make it to the eastern conference finals.

Mitch, is a decent back-up center in the NBA...he is NOT a starting center. When he is on the floor its a 4 on 5 offense all the time..can't make foul shots, no game in the paint unless rebound dunk or lob, fouls way too much, Hartenstein, give this team so much more..can do everything Mitch can't....glad to see Hartenstein proving that when he's on the floor..If and whenever Mitch comes back...he needs to go to the backup roll at center...LGK!!

Well he did it on 10-23 shooting and with 6 TOS.

Sure he was injured but the guy is injured multiple times every season and "every playoffs" apparently.
