Y'all stay putting limits on people and then mock people for putting them on brunson in prior years.

Pretty sure that this was an ancient power absorption move. He drained Klay of his skill and brought those talents to the Knicks.

Dejounte Murray who? LOL.

DIVO is proving he can be the 3 of a big 3 and possibly even more. If he keeps up these numbers on high efficiency he is a legit star.

Further, if Divo keeps this up and Randle, OG get healthy for the playoffs , this team will very likely be able to contend for a championship.

Crazy how well he has been playing. Perfect fit next to Brunson with the chemistry.

I'm just glad he's here because I wanted to draft him.

Guy has a shooters mentality, for better or worse. The Starks comp is close. As stated above, Starks was a better defender in a defensive era.

I wanted to draft him too. Liked the way he played in final four.

I'm starting to think that this kid is the goods! He just didn't have the opportunity to show it in GS.

Most importantly he can be a reliable 3rd scoring option to compliment Jalen and Julius. He doesn't need the ball to be effective but can get his own when he needs to and get others involved. This will also be beneficial for OG where he doesn't have to worry much about scoring and can focus more on the defensive end while getting easy baskets on offense.

As far as his full upside, I could see him being a 22 4 5 on 46% shooting and 40% from 3 as a 2nd option behind a star.

Donte is having a career year, but that is a very misleading framing. You’re attributing to DDV starting the improvement that happened after the OG trade; 16-4 since Jan 1st.

To be meaningful, you’d need to compare our record with Grimes starting before the OG trade to our record with DDV starting before the OG…since grimes has no starts since the trade.

And before the OG trade we went 7-6 with Donte starting vs 10-8 with Grimes. DDV is certainly having a better season than Quentin, but our record is a bad way to make that case.

The Knicks prior "sign a guy on the upswing of his career " move was the always lovable THJr. The most recent ones are Randle, Brunson and DDV.

I think they got better at this

Don’t forget Hartenstein. Our pro scouts have done a very good job, they’re starting to remind me of my hockey team, the Avs…who are great at finding NHLers who would be better in the Colorado system than they’ve shown so far at the prolevel.

Stan Van Gundy was ready to dunk on Donte this game after his slow start shooting 2-8.

Im sure we all kinda thought he’d have a rougher night being the top gun and focus of the defense, even if Dallas isnt great on D.

Then he just went supernova again. Donte Divinferno. Look at the difficulty of the shots he was making. Effortless range and with some very strong drives.

Averages as a starter this season:

34 games
26.9 mpg
16.4 ppg (65% TS)
3.6 rpg
2.8 apg
1.3 spg

29/4/4 over his last 6 since Julius and OG went down.

He’s only getting better with more minutes and responsibility. Crazy how Thibs was capping him at 20-25 minutes most nights before this. Grimes and Quick are gone now, so he’s our guy at SG. If Thibs plays Hart or Burks over him he’s an idiot, although I can still see him doing that because they’re bigger.

It takes injuries and trades for some coaches to adjust unfortunately, especially Thibs. Donte has taken full advantage of his opportunity. Always fun to see somebody breakout like he has. We struck gold yet again in free agency.
