This is an excellent signing. Burks is probably done after this.

Shake is a solid ball handler and can get his own shot, and he's got a nice wingspan defensively. He and Deuce seem like a good pairing, I'd run Shake as the 1 with the 2nd unit, Deuce off ball.

Looks like another chucker like Burks. Guess we will see how long he'll last.

Our need is for a real 1 and depth at the 4/5.
We signed another guy in the 6'3" to 6'5" range.

I mean he has done some good things in the past, but there are some actual point guards out there now.

He’s not better than Burks, but it’s okay I guess

Advanced stats say this guy is awful and a huge net negative fwiw, and has been having his worst season too.

Career VORP of 0.
Career BPM of -2
6th Percentile in Overall EPM this season
Averaged around a -1.5 in Overall RAPTOR from 20-23.

No hes not a good defender at all.

Only slight positives I see are he seems to have some decent size for a guard and can be an average shooter. His regular counting stats look okay on the surface, but his actual impact isnt there apparently.

Basically he looks similar to, yet worse, than Burks. Obviously the Burks we have gotten so far has been as bad as you can get though, so why not. As long as Shake doesn’t take away from Deuce and is just insurance then fine, but dont expect much.

Probably a depth signing. If we’re seriously relying on Shake in a few weeks, we’re probably in some deep deep shyt

I get him confused with Landry Shamet. Should help with the gap.

does more than Alec Burks, which is a low bar to cross, but a bar important enough to cross.

He's probably here to be someone more playable than Jacob Toppin or Charlie Brown Jr.

This will likely put Burks off ball at the 2 and Deuce in Westcester

Advanced Numbers (Since 19-20 Season)

Restricted Area:

346/572: 60% (excellent)

Mid Range:

115/280: 41% (very good)

Left Corner 3PT (38%) lower volume
Right Corner 3PT (41%) lower volume

In case you’re wondering why he hasn’t been very efficient despite some standout categories (1) he doesn’t get to the FT often and (2) the bigger issue is his above the break 3PT shooting. For starters - it’s a shot he notoriously loves but he’s also not good in that zone.

174/508 = 34%

Furthermore, he’s typically averages about 5-6 drives per game and historically passes on 40% of them which means he’s at least willing to hit the open man.

This is good, I can envision him kicking the ball out to Bogs or Deuce.
