Thibs was believing in Precious for 45 mpg. All of a sudden he gets 7.

McBride was on the bench for 2.5 years and suddenly gets 48 minutes.

I’ve been a Deuce guy from before day 1 (I wanted to draft him and have been calling him another Caruso/Marcus Smart) but this isn’t about him. It’s just that the coach doesn’t seem to have a feel for the game with these rotations.

Thibs said after the Golden State game that it was about match-ups. And I hate to be the one to break it to you but he's getting an extension.

its a lock.

he can fall out of the first round he's still getting extended.

You think Mikal will hit 3s like Donte? Because everyone has Donte going to the bench. Not sure if that is an improvement

Bogs sucks. I'm just trying to figure out if he is more trash on offense or defense.

Bog’s is Fournier with no shooting.

It's like Fournier \Kemba all over again

Hmmm. Donte 12/24 = 31 pts. Reports of his benching might be premature. :D

DSJ is a guy we should sign for peanuts in the offseason

moves deuce completely off ball and into his best position (c+s 3)

and dsj attacks the rim and plays good defense. he's a perfect fit for thibs

What Thibs has done with this team during this injury stretch has been nothing short of masterful. Look at the Grizzlies and how they became just non-competitive with their injuries and Thibs has us in the hunt for the 3rd seed.

Plus Brunson loves him like family.

Let's finish this.

Yes. Mikal shot 42% from 3 one season, and generally hovers around 37-38. I think he could do that again, plus having him and OG out there will easily overcome any dip in offense that probably won't even occur by putting Mikal over Divo in.

A trade package with Deuce, Bojan's contract and picks has to bring back more than a roleplayer.

I'm telling you tho....i think Randle/Bojan's money is going to be what Leon uses to obtain KAT.

knicks wouldn't even give up multiple picks for dejounte murray. they are def saving the picks for a big time star instead of giving them up for mikal

fred katz said the knicks checked in on kat this season but never made an offer for him. so not sure how really interested they are in him

The way the reports are coming out, I think the brass is looking for a Booker to Giannis level talent to shake loose. Probably one of those two specifically.

Kat is a step below imo though in the right deal maybe. Especially if they think he's better to flip.

Great to beat down the Nets today, though I missed it sadly.

Personally, I'm on the Randle watch because if he returns seamlessly and we shock the non-believers, then we should stand pat as you're alluding to.

But I get it, Mikal is someone that will elevate that OG led defense to Bad Boys, Michael's Bulls, Ole Knicks level, for a 2024-25 run.

Let's hope that the Nets are hungry for all those picks the Knicks possess.

As a3rd option 2 way player who is 6'6" and long.. he's exactly what we need to play 5 on...he slots in perfectly at the 2 and would give us A Villlanova "4"...he'ds be the "Rasheed Wallace" move to put us over the top..

If all we have to give up is Deuce and Bogs and picks its a no brainier... An yeah I agree he doesn't look "that good" on the Nets...but with us , he'd be better than ever...likely an Allstar.

These other pieces like Towns and and Donovan Mitchell are not great fits IMO AND they would cost way more.

Yah…worst case scenario, Mikal would probably fit over those guys, but it looks like the Knicks are aiming much higher than Towns or Mitchell. We’ll see if they can do it.

Someone like Jimmy Buckets would be amazing on this squad at this point. Able to impact the game without scoring but can definitely do it, well rounded and tough. Fits the Thibs mentality.

I don't see Mikal as a "worst case scenario", but rather closer to best case. Because although there are more talented players - assuming if they are even realistic options- they would cost a boatload because their salaries are huge and not to mention how many picks we 'd have to add too.

I'd make that sacrifice for Giannis, because he's that good ....but that's about it .
Embiid is also that good , but his durability is garbage.
Booker is almost that good but for me his greater talent doesn't counter balance Mikal's perfect fit and much lower cost factor.

Outside of the above three I'm not that excited about the other options.
Donovan to me is too redundant to Brunson and too small. I don't care if he "can" play defense, I want a player who I know plays defense against BIG wings.

Towns - I was kinda impressed with what he's done with Minny this season but that contract means we give up Multiple core players and I don't think he's worth a Randle plus Mitch plus picks . Would Minny accept Bogs and Randle? If so I might reconsider because Town's shooting is legit. But still I cant quite see it with him, he s doesn't feel like a Knicks player.

Butler is a great clutch player but he's old and he cant shoot like Mikal , and he's more expensive. I also think he 's redundant when we have OG.

Mikal gives us elite shooting , elite defense, and the size/length to guard players like Jaylen Brown in the playoffs.

All that rolled up into one player and a lower cost and the chemistry factor with the Villanova guys ="perfect fit" to me.

223 to Evan's 241. There ain't no way he's not beating that record with this many games to go.

I REALLY want him to break the record... Fournier doesn't deserve it
