We're not built for earthquakes here. Something like this could be catastrophic.

Just heard on the news that all the NYC area airports have issued a ground stop. No flights are going out or coming in until they assess possible damage.

Ya'll need to come down to Indonesia and experience some earthquakes and volcanos lol... 4.8 will get those buildings shaking, but we get 7s here, volcano's going off weekly, and the occasional tsunami...

We got hit over here in NJ. I'm working from home today and it felt like my house got hit by a truck.

We are not equipped for anything stronger than a 4.5

Haha fair enough

FYI, 2004 9.1 - 9.3 earthquake in Indonesia was one of the most destructive in history, with an estimated 227,898 dead and tsunamis in Indonesia, Thailand, India and Sri Lanka.

Some of ya'll might be a little young for that, but thankfully most of the US apart from California is spared form that.

Yep, felt it here in Manhattan. I thought I was getting a dizzy spell then a few co-workers asked if I felt that and people started texting me the same.

Well, I can cross "experienced an earthquake" off my bucket list but once will do although I gotta say that it was pretty cool from a historical standpoint, cool in retrospect knowing that there wasn't too much damage done.
