He runs he players into the ground they say.
Maybe there's a method to the madness

Thibs is doing what Riley did before him. There just wasn't any minutes police in the 90s.

Also, Riley’s teams never made it all the way through the Finals with a ‘Chip.

This is why you bet on guys with winning pedigrees. When the margins are razor thin guys who tend to have been around success find a way to tilt games in your favor. Had a gut feeling Hart and Donte would show up in an elimination 6 and boy did they show up. Compare that to what Tobias Harris and Paul Reed did in this game... There's your series right there. Winners vs. Losers.

OG Anunoby should be a Knick for a long time. Just an incredible athlete. So many timely buckets and wrecking plays defensively off the ball. In a series where there wasn't really a natural on ball matchup for him he still found a way to be the best defensive player in the series. Now if he could just start making those pesky free throws

Does Thibs get credit for winning a series that he did not have the best player in, down an all-star player and a rotation guy that was traded for mid-season? Or is that only reserved for coaches like Spo? :D

Thibs gets credit plus a fat contract extension. Leon too.

High wire act, that Thibodeau. He played his core 4 non-centers basically the entire game. In theory we still have upwards of 14 upcoming games against Indy and Boston. Now that he’s made it to the second round, Thibs will be rewarded no matter what. But his do-or-die tactics will catch up with him sooner or later — hopefully later.

OG and the Nova 3 better have 6 or 7 games left in the tank against these young Pacers.

I know some guys here were feeling frisky last night about some of us wanting to play Precious, but he is more than legit as an 8th man for Thibs to play in his rotations. Bogie made it 9 guys, but he's out. I believe we will need minutes from Precious vs. Indy to keep our frontline fresh.

I'm going to borrow a page out of Becky Hammon's playbook. I don't think Maxey is a 1A player. He's a heck of a 2.

Yeah - but I suspect that goink forward he'll be their closer.

Maxey carried his team to the win in Game 5. He is their true clutch player.

I came away from this series with real respect for him even if that franchise is otherwise now rubbish to me

Just f*cking develop your bench a little bit. Problem is, Thibs’ system only works with at least one dribble drive iso-gunner on the floor at all times. Thibs looked visibly uncomfortable back for that hot minute when we had a run-and-gun fast break bench squad.

Then again, he seems clearly over handing the reigns to the corpse of MJ Burks.

Knicks need to win this Pacers series for things to feel meaningful.

For a first round matchup it surely is. Ask the Pacer who faced the Bucks without Giannis, and Lilliard and Portis for stretch. Ask the Celtics who faced a heat team without Jimmy Butler.

For us to do in while missing our number #2 and Bogs...is huge imo.

Maxey is a good kid, hell of a hooper. I gained a lot more respect for him after this series. Embiid is a bitch, but Maxey kept it all hoops.

I'm just stopping by to say congratulations to an incredibly loyal and passionate fanbase that has stuck with their team through thick and thin. I can say with confidence y'all exemplify a true fanbase and your team is soooo easy to root for! I'm looking forward to watching the Knicks continue to grit & grind their way through these playoffs and maybe/hopefully reach the Finals.

Also, on another note, thank you for allowing good to prevail over evil. Embiid played like a PoS that he's been exposed as and injured countless players on your team along the way, but with Brunson at the helm and a bunch of great role players (Deuce is becoming a favorite...) your team prevailed!

But what about Game 6? Seemed like he was still reliving his great game 5. Maybe it'll come with age and he's still somewhat a young guy. But I don't see him being able to consistently do what Brunson does (not in terms of putting up 40 points regularly in the playoffs) but being that lead guy. At least not on a top tier team. But again that could change. There's talent for sure, but he's kinda here and there sometimes top sometimes not, sometimes takes plays off, etc. True 1A alphas on top teams don't do that.

You could say the same for Brunson's performance in the first two games. Maxey was their best player overall IMO and was a constant threat with the game on the line in every game far more so than Embiid.

Brunson is great and that he was even in MVP conversations is pretty amazing. But he certainly has room for improvement too.

To be fair, the Wu (especially Ghost) mentioned smoking dust in their songs quite consistently throughout the decades. Far more than any other rappers I can think of.

Here's a "gem" from a Wu Affiliate; very dark song/beat.

the pace and shooting the pacers play at will surely be something we have to adjust to. I don't think we can be playing our guys 48 minutes vs them. Sixers its a different story because outside of Maxey the sixers play at a pretty slow pace to not overexert embiid.

There will be game(s) that the pacers are hot from 3. But we should dominate the glass again, I don't think sixers have anyone specifically that can guard Brunson...they will try guys like Nesmith, Nemhard, and Sheppard on him but those are a lot of inexperienced defenders Brunson should be able to take advantage of.

I would honestly make Haliurton a scorer all series and just keep guys like Turner, Nesmith, Siakam from going off. If Haliburton wants to go for 40 like Maxey so be it...that isn't his mentality.
